2) From what I have been reading I don't think you can change the text message sounds unless your phone is unlocked. Ringtones yes for the phone ringer, but not text messaging. There was a way to go in the "back door" and replace the sound files that make up the text messaging sounds... but I don't know if it still works for an iphone 4 and if you want to get that involved.

My girlfriend can upgrade her iphone to a 16gb 4 for $150, should she go for it, or spend the extra cash for the 32gb?? She doesnt have many apps so I'm thinking 16 should be plenty.

Not that much, I have a 32gb touch thats only half full. I'm thinking for the money she wont get the use out of the additional space.

Man, I keep checking this thread hoping someone will post that xxxxxx store just got a huge shipment. I can't believe there is more demand for these now than when they first came out.

Word on the street has it that they're expecting to announce 11-13 million units sold for the last quarter alone.

It'll get way worse if they announce a Verizon-compatible version. I'm thinking of waiting for iPhone 5 at this rate. They'll have fixed the antenna problem and likely ditched the weird boxy shape and gone back to the classic round edges of the 3G.

Won't be able to make it to that side of the city any time soon, but thanks for the info. More like this would be awesome! Especially if they are nearby. I can't imagine iPhone 5 coming out before next summer. Is that a fair assessment? I would wait it out, but not if it's going to be more than a a year.

I thought I'd wait it out too, but for 159, I don't mind to re-up for 3 more years. Rogers has been ok to me.

Plus, if I want the new one, hopefully my money situation will be better and I can just get it at the apple store/

I like the boxy shape. I find I can hold onto the damn thing much easier. Also, you can set it on it's side-no paperclip stand needed.

Okay, I think I'm sold on getting the iPhone 4 now. If anyone sees them out in the wild be sure to post here. I'm with Rogers and I don't mind going with either a 16 or 32GB.

Call retentions (or just customer services via *611) and see if you can get one that way. Supposedly it's possible (they have a dedicated menu item when you call in for the iPhone 4), but I've not tried it yet.

So far so good. Going to play with it more when I get home but in the meantime are there any default setting I need to change to that are a "must"
