I've given it a few more spins, and I don't think it's horrible. There are a few tracks I like. Burning in the Skies is good and I really like Waiting for the End and the beat to Wretches and Kings has been stuck in my head all day. I think it was more of a shock than anything when I listened to it for the first time. I still wish there were more actual songs, but once I got over the fact that it's not old Linkin Park, it's actually a solid, though not great, album. That's just my opinion though.
yeah, Wretches and Kings is probably my fav so far.

I don't mean to be too harsh but this is a ridiculous comment. Each generation thinks the next generation and the previous generation has awful taste in music and the music they listen to is the only good music.
Kanye West did write a spot on piece of art about himself and his character.
Saw the preview for Saw 3d a couple days ago, and I thought the dude in the preview kinda looked like Chester from LP. Looked it up and sure enough, he's in it. Apparently one of his band mates is neighbours with a producer and Chester was a huge Saw fan, so they made it happen. Can't imagine he can, can't imagine the role will require much from him either.
Haven't take A Thousand Suns out of my car since I bought it. I have grown to love it. With every listen, it gets better and you appreciate what they did more and more. They fused so many different genres of music into this album. And like I said on the other page, they easily could have done a traditional Linkin Park album and sold a lot more copies, but they wanted to try something different and something that wasn't going to make them more money. For that reason alone, you gotta give them credit.
Like most of the mass media that you so cherish, I will give LP the credit you demand.

Not sure why you needed to be a dink about it. It's not like I was calling for a respsonse. The "You gotta give them credit" line was just one of those things you say.
If you don't like them, fine. Couldn't care less. My point though is still vaild. They could have easily done an album full of the same stuff and it would be very successful, but they didn't. They wanted to try something different and be more artisitc. If it worked is up for debate, but their intentions are not.
Well, I've listened to it a couple of times now, and I have to say, it's not great. Actually, it seems pretty self-indulgent and pretentious to be quite honest.
Not their best by a mile. I'll take Hybrid Theory any day.
