Hawkesworth snuck up and pinched his ass.
None of those photos are particularily flattering.

Dale Hodges is a Dinosaur, I would have liked to see Jennifer Banks run again, she came very close last time.
I'll be voting Chris Harper this time around, but it is likely Dale Hodges will get to sleep in his seat for at least another 3 years because of the split vote.

I'm hearing McIver singing "Old Man River" in that shot of him!

He said that AFTER he said that it's a 50 year old problem that doesn NOT need a 50 year old solution. Soooo... Maybe I need to read more of his site, but after reading that, I'm not sure he's the guy I'll be voting for.
BUT, it did get me thinking a bit about the RR problem again. Maybe there might be a possible way to re-negotiate with the Tuss Tina. The original plan was a big swath of land more or less in line with the end of sarcee and joining up with the southren part of 37th. I wonder if the city has ever considered trying to simply purchase a few meters of land directly adjacent to 37th? I mean, instead of expropriating the people that live backing on to 37th, buy the first 50 meters of reserve land along 37th. Maybe the tsuutina feel differently about that land? Didnt they claim that the other swath would have involved going over some "sacred" land? I'm a honkey, so no land is sacred to me. I have no idea whether they're BSing about it, or what, but who am I to say.

^ Yeah, I am having a real tough time deciding who to vote in Ward 11. I am 90% sure who I am voting for in the Mayoral race, I know I am going to Pic Vic, but I am having real trouble with the Alderman race.

Perhaps The Sun has its "candidate of choice" but I have to say that Rick Bell has been coming across as more of a Nenshi guy with most of his articles lately. He's definitely no fan of Barb, and was one of the original people to use the "Dr. No" moniker for McIver.

According to Rick Bell's article, McIver thinks this is a 'contest'?
What an arrogant way to treat the opinions and the hopes of the citizens of Calgary.
The most annoying part about him is that he continually says he speaks for Calgarians. Really, Ric? And you pledge common sense and leadership as your motto? You're going to have to explain to the citizens who are fed up with council how you came up with that description.
Listening to him on CBC Eyeopener this morning as well... what a jackass. He thinks he knows exactly what Calgarians want, and then cuts off the other candidates just to hear himself talk.

No surprise here, very accelerated growth for Nenshi, Higgins with steady growth.

Nenshi has 3362 Facebook fans today, so if their 3141 number from yesterday is correct he's gaining fans at a high rate.

The Ring Road is an absolute cluster-frakk at this point, for sure. I don't think any solution will please everyone at this point.....I mean, I'm OK with cutting through the weaselhead at this point, although I understand this would be an appalling solution to many others.
Of Mr. Maxim's willingness to continue negotiations.....I'm not a fan, obviously. That said, I'll have to side the guy who at least seems to understand the value of it, as Mr. Pincott doesn't appear to believe in Ring Road at all**.
http://brianpincott.ca/wordpress/?p=163 (Closing sentence)
"The more we invest in a transportation SYSTEM for the SW the more and more I wonder – what need is there for a Ring Road on 37 St?"

I wish they all would answer the question, "if you could not vote for yourself, who would you vote for?".
