Great road win for a Colts team, missing a few key players on O.

It's only week 3 but it's looking like there's a very good chance we could see another MVP award for Peyton.

69 percent completion rate 9 touchdown 0 ints

Tough loss for us Fins fans tonight. However, they finally opened the play book up alittle and allowed Henne to throw the ball, he did well imo. They really need to stop treating Ricky and Ronnie as equals. Brown is the better back and doesn't put the ball on the ground nearly as much, at least not yet this season.

First, it pisses me off to no end that Braylon Edwards played in this game, what is our society coming to? This is more than a football issue. But he was in the game and he made a couple of plays that killed the Fins. I would like to know why they didn't have Davis covering the Jets best WR? Allen has done enough to start so far but 2 big mistakes cost the Fins, he wasn't the only reason why they lost but those 2 big plays really hurt them.

I still the AFC East is up for grabs and I really believe that the Pats, Fins and Jets will split all the games between each other, it will come down the records against everyone else that determines the division winner.

Bah! Denver had at least 5 chances in the red zone and came away with about 3 points. Stupid lack of a running game. Denver should have had this as a win, their D was outstanding.

Don't feel sorry for us. As an Oiler fan you should be all too familiar with cheering for a once great franchise that has been living in the past for too long and now reduced to a laughing stock.

I didn't see the game, but congrats on the win, Chiefs.

The knives are out in the Bay area press. The general feeling is that Jimmy Raye (offensive coordinator) has to be turfed, and if Singletary isn't willing to do that then maybe they both need to go.

Running into the middle of the line over and over with no success and refusing to switch to more dynamic play calling until it is too late has made the faithful cranky.

How many games has Ronnie Brown sat out for his off season DWI?

While I agree that Edwards probably should have been sat for the game, I also think he needs to be treated exactly the same as the other players in the same situation and it is hypocritical to complain about Braylon Edwards and give a free pass to everyone else who has done the same thing.

Pro Football Talk has a list where they report charges against NFL personnel, here is the list since the start of August:
Quote:
9/21/10: Jets WR Braylon Edwards is arrested for DUI.

9/18/10: Ravens assistant coach Andy Moeller is arrested for DUI.

9/3/10: Colts DT Fili Moala is arrested for DUI.

8/30/10: Bucs assistant defensive line coach Chris Mosley is arrested for DUI.

8/17/10: Browns DB Gerard Lawson pleads no contest to DUI charges.

8/9/10: Colts DT John Gill is arrested for public intoxication.

8/8/10: Browns DB Gerard Lawson is charged with drunk driving and hit-skip.

Jimmy Raye was just fired.

QB Coach Mike Johnson has taken over.

Sigh. I knew he was going to miss it. Back in 1999/2000 when the Raiders were climbing out of the rut they were in before reaching the 2002 Superbowl, they got those types of wins. On the road, early in the season, with a young team, a 32 yarder to win the game has to be made.

Another 4-12 or 5-11 season I fear.

Yup....no question about that at all.

My only thing was the team itself...i really thought they wuld suspend him for this game simply for PR purposes. With the addition of a very questionable character in Holmes during the off-season and the Johnsons and Ryans alleged no nonsense policy, I thought they may take a stance. The whole Plaxico Burress thing is still on football fans minds in NY city...so i thought they had a ready made excuse out there that very few would question....nevermind it occured at 5 freaking AM during agame wek. On top of that Edwards isnt a first time screw up. But alas, the Jets are like 99% of all sports teams...whatever it takes to win, character be damned.

Singletary is a great motivatory, great people person, great defensive mind ... but he doesn't know jack about the offensive side of the ball. And that can work if you have a good OC, but that wasn't Jimmy Raye.

Teams are going to force the 49ers to beat them with the pass, and until Alex Smith proves he can do it there are going to be 8 or 9 in the box. Hopefully Mike Johnson realizes he needs to use the pass to open up the running game. Running into the middle of the line play after play isn't doing anyone any favours.

Middle of the pack in yards given up per game, tied for last in points against per game and getting absolutely smacked around by the likes of the Chiefs and the Seahawks makes me think Singletary is a decent motivator (the 49ers were ready for the Monday night loss to the Saints), an amazing former linebacker but doesn't have a clue what's going on on either side of the ball.

Bay Area football is bad bad bad.

I don't know because I haven't watched the games, but how long is the defense on the field for each game? You can have a monster D but if it is on the field for the whole game they are going to get worn out.

Thanks Bobblehead. It was, unfortunately for you, a good old fashioned butt whipping. I had a big 49ers fan over to watch the game at my house and he was absolutely disgusted. For me the game was a complete shock to begin with since the Niners looked so good against the Saints. However the Chiefs pretty much manhandled the 49ers in every way, shape, or form. Now I have to ask the question, are the Chiefs actually a good team? Or are the Niners the worse team in football?

Chiefs defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel seemed to know exactly what was coming at every turn. A 49ers source said the Chiefs did have a strong idea what the 49ers would call, probably based on the 49ers' personnel group and their formations.

When you OC is that predictable it is going to be a long day.

BTW, what the heck is the deal with Shaun Smith grabbing at crotches? 2 games in a row he has been accused of it. I suppose that triggered Anthony Davis to get an unsportsmanlike penalty, but still, wtf.

I think the Chiefs are way ahead of where I thought they would be. I don't know if they are quite a playoff team yet, but they have the potential to be in the mix. I still don't really buy Cassell as a QB that will ever make them a contender, but we will see. I thought best case for the Chiefs was 7-9 before the season started.
