I can't wrap my mind around how you can expect a show titled "Spartus: Blood and Sand" to be an Oscar winner. Totally unbearable acting, plot and effects? Please.
I must have my expectations set way to low.

Do you have Movie Central?? YOu have to have Movie Central to access the Movie Central shows on VOD. If you do have it and still couldn't find it, they might have pulled it off as the show has been over for a few months now. Same thing happened to me as I waited too long to watch the finale of Treme. I watched the entire season, but missed the finale. I was pissed.

Ignore the first 2. Then it becomes much better...
It's guy fantasy - guy fights, guy has women thrown at him. Seriously fun to watch. Now if you would excuse me I have some boobies to watch.

The effects are cheesy, but after a few episodes they grow on you (well they did me) and they become ok. The first few episodes were particularly bad but it gets better.
The last episode is completely awesome. And how can you say bad acting? It is awesome, the duologue is awesome too, just a bit crude, well quite a bit crude.

I watched 5 episodes from the beginning, this weekend, and glad I did. Watched from Shaw vod, for free. 5 hours well wasted. Everyones review of the finale, has me pretty excited to get through all the episodes in a week or 2. This stuff is way better than that crap reality tv people love so much.

So, since last weekend, I watched all 13 episodes, with the last 2 tonight. I think the second last one should've been called "Bitchslap". The last one was great. I guess you either love this stuff or you don't. I loved it and watching it all within a week was great. Gratitude, Shaw VOD, free shows.
Time well spent.

bad news, Andy Whitfield's (Spartacus) cancer returned after he thought he had beaten it. So they are either going to end the show or re-cast
Quote:
Although Starz execs have yet to decide how Andy Whitfield’s cancer relapse will impact the future of Spartacus: Blood and Sand, exec producer Steven S. DeKnight reveals that one of two things will likely happen: a new actor will be brought in to replace Whitfield or the series will end.
“The two main options are to close up shop or recast,” says DeKnight. “I want to talk to Andy and find out how he feels about the options. That’s obviously very important to us.
“We’re still absorbing what’s happened,” adds DeKnight. “I think it’s going to be a little while before we reach any conclusions.” (Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, a prequel to the series, will still air as scheduled in January 2011.)
DeKnight says his primary concern remains Whitfield, who bowed out of the show’s second season after doctors advised him to resume “aggressive treatment” for Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. “He’s a trooper,” marvels DeKnight. “He has a very positive outlook.”

I wish lucy Lawless would've got naked years ago in Xena, and then maybe made out with her little blonde friend. I watched every week, hoping that would happen.

Too bad about Andy, hopefully he can pull through again. Sucks that his cancer just won't go away.
I like this show too much for it to end, but if they do re-cast they really need to find someone good.

full credit to her for being 42, still having people wanting to see her naked, and not being a disappointment when they finally get to. she is the definition of MILF

Starz has officially started looking for an actor to replace Andy Whitfield on Spartacus.
According to the just-released casting notice, producers are searching for a Caucasian male in his mid to late 30s to play the “smart, intense, passionate” title role. Interested parties must have an authentic British accent and be prepared to sign a three-year contract.
Whitfield was forced to bow out of the show’s second season after doctors advised him to resume “aggressive treatment” for Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Last week, exec producer Steven S. DeKnight told me that the the production would either “close up shop or recast.” It looks like they’re moving forward with the latter.

happy the show is going on, hope Whitfield gets better and can possibly be back for a season 3
