Well I wouldn't really put much faith in my Shaw guide. You could be right, I am not sure. Even if it's a re-run, it's worth watching again.

No surprise there, strange though Casey let it out before the new Letterman interview.

I only have one thing to say about this.

I'm still waiting for Tom Cruise to release his "I was just pretending to be crazy" documentary.

Actually a pretty interesting looking movie.

Fun interview on Letterman tonight, too.

Just watched the interview(the new one that is) Letterman is such a donkey. I can't remember an interview where he was more annoying. Can't wait for Conan to start up again.

Anyways, I look forward to seeing the movie... Not sure if it is going to be playing in Calgary though?

Obviously its a hoax. I can't believe the amount of people I talked to when this was all happening who totally thought I was wrong when I said its clearly a hoax. God people can be gullible..

There's no doubt that the guy is a brilliant actor, I would expect that he's going to be able to pick and choose his roles.

I think this far surpasses the Andy Kaufman Jerry Lawler appearance on the tonight show.

I'm expecting to see Jim Morrison striding onto the stage of the Conan show any time now.

Ok, so it was a hoax. So what the hell was the point of it? What is the point in watching a movie about someone going off the deep end if its cleary fake? I just lost all interest in this film. It would've been much more interesting if it was true.

It's the same sort of thing as David Lynch's Mulholland Drive, sort of satirizing Hollywood's obsession of sexy success and its feigned repulsion when someone in the inside crowd either fails or in Phoenix's case purposely rejects it.

Ya, I don't understand the point either. Was it just a year+ long version of punk'd carried out on the media and general public? Is he starved for attention?

The problem is, who really cares about Joaquin Phoenix? This guy is WAY overvaluing his importance and as a result this hoax really ends up being a joke on him. Other than people in the industry, who really thought about this dude at any time between maybe a week after the original interview, and when news surfaced that he was coming back to Letterman? My thoughts, and probably most people's thoughts, were "oh he quit acting to rap ... that's odd ... but whatever".

If it was a legitimately big actor in a pop culture sense doing this it would be another story, but Joaquin Phoenix doesn't have the importance to pull off a hoax like this.
