Leave a bag full of pennies for your garbage collector. Assuming, of course, that you're out of empties.

After you have exchanged it for cash at Canadian Tire, use this 'found' money to buy Jolinar some new extension cords.

I've never seen any of those machines at Canadian Tire or Safeway. Has anyone else? Any other suggestions?

The downtown safeway and westbrook mall safeway both have these machines... Use the all the time. They charge you 10% if you want cash but it is 1 to 1 if you take the safeway gift card.

There's a pub in royal oak called the blind munk. they have a machine that you pour loose change into and it prints you out a bar credit.

I don't spend change, I won't buy something unless it's with paper cash. I save all my change in a 3ft tall Coke bottle and every year or so I will roll the change in it and usually spend that money on a Flames road trip or some type of trip for myself. Usually I get my mom to come over to count and roll it, she is weird and loves doing it. It's amazing how quickly it adds up (usually $1500-2000/year) and you don't really miss it. The part I hate is bringing in a couple grocery bags full of rolled change, makes me feel ghetto.
The only problem with carrying around so much change some days is it falling out of your pockets in your car, last time I had my car detailed the guy found ~$40 in change under my seat.

Roll it up and take it to the bank! Surprising how fast it adds up (and I'm kinda surprised at how few people have actually suggested that)

I have 2 of those Bubba kegs that I fill with spare change.
Pennies, Nickels & Dimes...
I have 1 at about 80% full and the other at about 50.
Don't know what I'll do when they're full.....
Xbox 360 maybe, PS3, decisions decisions decisions........

I can't be bothered to touch change. It's just so, so common.
Really... who is so poor, that they'd contemplate buying something with filthy money?
When I buy 5 pounds of something, I just put it on my Dad's account, and have my Mommy pick it up.

The Safeway at 16th Ave and Centre St. N also has a change machine. As mentioned, there is no service charge if you get the money put on to a Safeway card.

Not exactly how I meant it. I actually just enjoy saving change because it adds up so quickly and is my way of saving for my Flames road trips each year without actually having to put money away for it.
