I highly doubt you showing gross pictures in the off topic section of a hockey forum will do anything to disuade countries from going to war.

Who knows though, maybe it could have done some good for ole' G W Bush before he invaded Iraq.

Maybe it would have.... and for all those who supported George and couldn't wait to get over there and kick some Iraqi butt.

Also, since politicians are usually the ones to decide when and where it will send Canada's soldiers to kill others, perhaps they all should be exposed to pics like the one I posted. Maybe they will think long and a little harder about sending our military men off to fight.

I'm not into war pics, and if someone puts a warning on their thread, I won't open it. But, I am totally into pictures of hot girls, and will open any threads with girl pictures.
Just so ya'll know where I stand.

Rerun, if you have kids, feel free to teach them about the violence that goes on in the world.

But don't try to preach to the rest of us about how you feel we are desensitized to violence.

Do you actually believe this? You think that politicians will change their minds if they are reminded that this isn't a Stallone movie? Seriously? How do you think the process of deciding to enter a combat situation goes now? A few guys sit around with a case of beer and talk about how cool it would be to blow up some stuff? The costs of going to war are well known, they've simply been deemed acceptable by whoever makes the final decision.

I think the point photon is trying to get across is that; Rerun, while this may be your goal, and this may be a forum, it is not necessarily the appropriate forum for the achievement of your particular goal.

I don't and didn't have a problem with Photon pulling the thread. He explained his reasons and I understand completely.

Technically it really wasn't against the rules (how do you put a rule in that covers everything?), but it was in contravention of the spirit of the rules.

No problem here guys.

....Ya... I'm sure you're right. I doubt it was nothing like that with George Bush and Dick Cheney... cough... cough. Thank god they went into Iraq to protect us from all those WMD's.

I don't think you are desensitized. I doubt you have a clue about it..... except what you see on tv and at the movies....

Give it a rest, Rerun. High School Social Studies (especially 20 and 30) focuses primarily on WWI and WWII. The brutality, the politics, and the economics. Anyone that has graduated high school is fully aware of the brutality of war.

I wonder if the same guys who were calling the Auzzie lawsuit guys as stupid and that they are totally to blame are some of the same guys who opened the Iraq post despite the warning and are annoyed with the poster.

I'm sorry, do you know me?! No.
Are you aware of my background and what I do/don't know? No.

Stop making assumptions about the posters on this board, get off your pedestal and stop taking a condescending tone to the entire CP community.
