Get in your time machine and head out to the East coast for the last 3 summers.

A lot of people held out hope for an Indian summer in September because last September was so nice.

One of those people was me as I'm building a deck railing this weekend. I wonder if I can even stain wood when it's only 7 degrees out tomorrow.

BC's summer showed up. The prairies weren't so lucky.

You're doing better than me. I foolishly dug postholes for my deck posts that I am now desperately trying to keep from filling with water.

IIRC, that was last October (indian summer).

I agree that this was, by far, the worst summer I can remembeer. I only golfed 3 times. Didn't float the river at all. Went swimming maybe 4 times. Just crap weather for the most part, and then it seemed like the nice weather would hit on days I had to work. FFFFFFUUUUUUUUU

On the bright side, you probably don't even have to pre-mix the concrete, just dump a bag of it in a post hole.

Actually it was the last two years. Last September had 4 days above 30. October 2008 began with quite a few days into the upper 20s. I remember Stephen Ave was packed with patio seekers in early to mid October!

Oddly enough this was the best summer Winnipeg has had since I have been here.....

I'd still rather be in Calgary though

I wish it would stop with this rain nonsense and either get nice or start snowing already. I want to either be able to walk outside in nice weather, or get to start playing hockey and snowboard sooner.

We could have 10 feet of snow and I'd be able to handle it as long as it was sunny out. It's the constant grey skies and haunting drizzle that crushes the human soul.

I've been biking only half as much as last year, and last year I basically biked only on Sunny days. This year I've biked in downpours because I needed to get out there. What a terrible summer. The only plus is that I was able to be in the lower mainland during their heat wave, and was sitting on a patio in 35 degree weather.
