Can you actually get injured blocking a shot now? I miss that.

I need some major help with in game tactics, i.e, crashing the net, overload, when to use the right forecheck, etc. I'm getting absolutely annihilated.
I cannot for the life of me make a pass into the slot. It can't happen. Pretty much the only ways I've been able to score goals is by beating the goalie in a 1 on 1 type match up..
I can't get shots through on the point, I can't make a cross ice pass, HELP.

Really? I just fire it from the point from a dish pass from the corner. I usually get like 5 goals on Pro, maybe 3-4 on Superstar.

I'm getting better... slowly but surely.
I scored a sick goal off the face off. Use the left stick and turn it up to select aggressive faceoff. Jokinen won the draw back to Iggy who was hanging slightly back and left behind Jokinen and he wired it top shelf.
Still lost though, still lost.

Picked up my second jumbo pack. Nothing mind blowing but now have girardi and mab on D, plus a mediocre top 2 lines with crazy potential. May focus on the consumable packs now to keep the band together.

I'm a right wing sniper in Be A Pro. It's pretty damn frustrating to be honest. I was drafted by the Penguins and made the team out of camp. I'm the leading scorer but was recently dropped to the 3rd line. I have 3 goals and 6 assists in 13 games (Crosby has 1g and 5a). Sniper is really tough because every is so terrible at setting you up for a good shot. I have to do it all myself lest Jordan Staal be given the puck and skate into a defenseman, the boards or just lose the puck entirely.

Now multiply that by 10 years, and you'll get small glimpse of what it must be like to be Iggy.

I'd rather be drafted last than suffer on Edmonton.

Yes, even while lying down to block shots. I lost Tanguay for two weeks blocking a shot.

Bought an Iggy card for 2400 pucks last night! Already maxed out and still has 55 games left.
My line-up is now...
Higgins(cgy) - Stajan(cgy) - Iginla(cgy)
Vanek(buf) - McDonald(stl) - Kotalik(cgy)
Wolski(phx) - Lombardi(phx) - Tikhonov(phx)
WHL(pats) - WHL(pats) - WHL(pats)
Regehr(cgy) - Bouwmeester(cgy)
White(cgy) - Giordano(cgy)
WHL(rebels) - WHL(rebels)
Bryzgalov(phx)
WHL(rebels)
Offence: 89
Defence: 87
Goal: 94
Team chemistry: 90
I have about 15000 pucks still banked from trades... I need to do some shopping sometime this week for some +9 stat cards for my guys. Most of them don't have any upgrades on them at all yet. Which reminds me, not a big fan of that $25000 salary cap.
Edit: My 1st line chemistry is taking a hit because I have a TWF in between two SNPs. If only the Flames had a playmaking center...
Add: Also, does anyone know how trades are going to be handled in HUT? Am I wasting my time waiting for Tangs and Jokinen to be moved to the Flames?

My Be A Pro defenseman dove head first in front of a shot and I missed a week with a elbow injury.
Then I cam back, went for a hit and crashed into the boards and was out for 2 weeks with a sore ankle.
Then I came back, promptly got my lights punched out in a fight and now I look like a racoon in a bad marriage.

I'll give you a hint.
Brent Sutter style hockey.
You gotta dump that biscuit in, go get it, work it around the outside to open up the defenders, work it to the half wall for the pass up the boards to the waiting defender or if the defenders are sufficiently spread out, drive it hard into the middle of the ice and try to place a shot far side or low off the pads for a rebound.
Switch your strategies to crash the net or behind the net. The only way overload works is in all-star games.
If you can learn to grind it out in this game and make short passes in and out of board play to nearby teammates, you'll start winning a lot of games 2-0. It's really rewarding to score one of those goals, too.

Wow, that beats the hell out of my team. Just out of curiosity, how much cash did you spend to get that team?

After having it a week, it is vastly superior to NHL10. It's just about the learning curve and figuring out all the nuances of the game.
I devote all my time to HUT. And it's rad.

Anyone else notice the people playing HUT online are insanely good/cheesy? And my team isn't bad either I have an 87 offense, 86 defense, and 86 goalie but I always get destroyed when I play it online.

Should I even bother playing HUT? I don't exactly want to spend money buying XBL pts so my team can be somewhat competitive. I don't really know what I'm doing in this mode but I played 2 games last night and one guy had friggin Khabibulin as a goalie and the other had 3 NHL players. Meanwhile my players are still learning how to hold a stick and skate backwards. Ridiculous...
