I find it scary that he is still rocking people right and left at his age. Like mentioned in the video, he has been playing for a lot of years and he is still whooping ass out there like its no one's business. What a machine.
Also, screw football in Canada. Every week I have to watch the freaking Seattle Seahawks (I know why, but damn). It is so tempting to get NFL Sunday Ticket, but I'll just hold back right now. Never get Indy games.
I figured I wouldn't be able to say this all year.
YOUR AFC WEST LEADING KANSAS CITY CHIEFS!!

Congrats Chiefs fans. Arrowhead was rocking last night for the first time in a long time.

Yeah it's been a while since I've heard it that loud. Chiefs defense looked pretty good and the special teams looked really, really good. The offense needs work as you can tell the coaching staff doesn't have confidence in Cassel and for good reason. He looks like he has happy feet in the pocket and his throws lack velocity. Even with that 57 yard run by Charles they still couldn't break 200 yards total offense. That will need to improve but the win is all that counts.
When will the Chargers learn that Norv Turner is not a head coach? That team looked every bit as disorganized and unprepaired as the Raiders did against the Titans. Their special teams return coverage looked Stampeders bad.

Thanks Dis. Arrowhead was the reason I became a Chiefs fan almost 20 years ago. I was really impressed with the Chiefs win. The defense looked much improved. Arenas and McCluster look to be the real deal. Matt Cassel still looks like a third string QB though. That is going to be the down fall of the Chiefs this season. The quicker Scott Pioli admits his mistake and trys to find a real QB the better.

No doubt that that played into the Chiefs favor. Along with the crowd noise. If it was nice and dry I'm sure Phillip Rivers would have been able to move the ball enough to give the Chargers the victory. Still the crowd noise looked to be frustrating him more than the rain.
First, congrats on the win. I wish the Raiders could pull a better effort like the Chiefs did last night.
I would hold off on any claims that Arenas and McCluster are "the real deal" and not just other versions of Dante Hall or Devin Hester. Other than the one big punt return by McCluster (which was great) neither added much to the offense or defense.
McCluster
Rushing: No yards on 1 attempt.
Receiving: 9 yards on 2 attempts.
Punt Returning: 3 for a 33.3 average with 1 TD and longest at 94 yards.
1 Fumble.
Arenas 1 tackle, 2 PDs
3 kick off returns for a 19.7 average and longest at 26 yards.
Two punt returns for a 30 yard average.
If they both establish themselves as dangerous return men but nothing else (although Arenas may contribute more defensively and not show up on the stat sheet) they can be quickly neutralized by a good punter/kicker like Hester and Hall were. It won't take long for special teams coaches to figure that out. If I'm a Chiefs fan, I would want to see McCluster brought in as a scat back to see if he can be a poor-man's version of Westbrook or Harvin.
Again, not to rain on your parade, but I didn't think either of these two deserved the praise they were getting during the broadcast nor afterwards.
Portis explained that when there is a "nice woman" in a room with 53 men, they will "want to say something."
Portis didn't stop there. The Redskins star believes that Sainz was likely attracted to at least one of the Jets players. "You put a woman and you give her a choice of 53 athletes, somebody got to be appealing to her." he said. "Somebody got to spark her interest, or she's gonna want somebody. I don't know what kind of woman won't, if you get to go and look at 53 men's packages."

I'm going to defend her. She was doing her job. She's not a sports reporter even. The only reason she is there is to interview Sanchez for the Hispanic audience. The guys harassed her a little because it was probably the first time they had ever seen her, and she was dressed revealing. She didn't want to make a big deal out of it. She was probably embarassed for being in the locker room with naked men to begin with and embarassed about some of the antics of these men, but not offended. It was a stupid idea by the network to do the feature in the locker room, couldn't they have gottem him to have a sit-down interview in a studio?
I think this is a self-guilt apology and investigation. Nothing really happened.
And Portis is just stupid. Many women do a very good job and are professional in a locker room as beat reporters.

Sounds like a sour Raider fan to me. IMO one of the main reason that these guys were drafted in the first place was to help the Chiefs bolster what was a woeful return game last year.
The Chiefs don't try to pretend that they're a mano a mano group of stud athletes who will beat you one on one. They know damn well that they need to put in a group effort, and that they need to win the return yardage battle in every game. Paying attention to details like this will make the difference between a talent lacking squad scratching out an 8-8 record while the super athlete team who doesnt' watch details continues to put up 5-11 records in spite of all their talent.
McCluster and Arenas deserved praise last night because when you factor in the 160 punt return yards, the 40 yards on the fumble return and kick return yardage, suddenly that 400 to 197 total offence imbalance evens out.

It's stupid to let anyone, regardless of sex, into the lockerroom directly after the game.

There's no doubt that those picks have already resulted in one win as they were the main reason for the victory but they won't face poor special team like that on a regular basis. You have to admit the Chargers special teams coverage was pretty pathetic last night. If I was a Chiefs fan I would be more encouraged by the defense as they did the old bend but not break to a 'T'. Chargers moved the ball easily between the 40's but had issues scoring.
It sucks though that Pioli gave Cassel that contract. He's kind of tied himself to that signing and it will be difficult for him to admit the mistake. Now that other positions look to be addressed and improved they are still deficient at the most imortant position in the game.
Kris Jenkins - Torn ACL, out for the season and will probably retire.
Ryan Grant - High Ankle Sprain & Torn Ligaments, out for the season.
Bob Sanders - Torn Bicept, rumored to be out for the season.
All three are huge injuries to their respective teams. The Jets can't replace Jenkins, even if they tried.
The Packers may be able to replace grant with Brandon Jackson, but they may need to sign some RB depth.
The Colts have lots of experience replacing Bob Sanders, so their run defense will continue to the be mediocre.
