Or have a normal life, with a Fiancee in a nice townhouse.

I get very perplexed when people think it is socially acceptable to cause excruciating pain to an animal simply because their owners are irresponsible. Is everyone too scared of social interaction that they can't knock on the door of the neighbours and explain to them the situation in a calm, adult manner?

Nope, the best way is clearly to just poison/kill the animal and ask questions later. Glad to know you guys are out there protecting the streets.

It is the irresponsible owners fault, not the cats so why would you poison an innocent animal? There is something very disturbed with you, I can picture you as a child cooking ants with a magnifying glass.

This case sounds like the neighbour tried to reason with the people. But since they are trashy they decided to escalate it into blocking cars and other crap behaviour.

Absolutely, the point of the original thread has been completely lost.

For my contribution to that I apologize.

There are several good ideas in this thread that would solve the problem without the cats getting killed.

Um, did you not read the whole post by the OP?

Animal services has been called, but won't come out and do anything as they have multiple cat licenses listed for the house.

C'mon. If the people are scared of cats, how forceful of an arguement do you really think they presented? The white trash neighbours probably said no, get off my property and then the neighbour ran away to their house to use hand sanitizer and jump at shadows.

To be honest I dont think anyone was serious about poisoning the cats. I think it got thrown out there as a joke and since you took the bait a few people are playing along.

From the original poster:

So now what? By-law enforcement refuses to do anything because the cats are "licensed." So you're left with few options. Taking it to the pound (or SPCA) will likely eventually lead to death anyways and it runs the risk of the neighbor getting his/his mom's cat back and the cycle starts all over.

Taking the cat out to the country to fend for itself is pretty cruel considering what a coyote would do to it... or the elements. A 22 is quick and painless and you can think of the tuna-antifreeze casserole as its last supper.

At a certain point, people get fed up. If I was the original poster, I would be making sure the cat took a dirt nap and wouldn't feel bad for a second. Not everyone is responsible like you and keep their housepets in their houses. Those that feel a right to let a cat wonder at will and crap where it pleases won't have that cat for very long.

I have a job and a I go to college full time as well so not sure where your demented logic comes from there. I take Paramedic, so I can save lives, something you are obviously opposed to. Now go back to watching your fake snuff films or visit whatever animal torture site gets you off and take a hike.
Your a waste of mine and every other posters time.

The implication of this statement is clear, that if one person's cats destroy another person's flowerbed, then the destruction of the cats is acceptable as they are both 'property' and should be shown equal measures of respect.

edit: and for the record, I'm in favour of getting some humane traps and turning the cats into the SPCA, then letting the neighbours know what's been done and where their cat(s) can be picked up. It's wrong to be a jerk neighbour but it's significantly more wrong to enact some kind of petty vengeance upon an animal who isn't capable of understanding the consequences of their actions.

Is spelling and grammar part of college program as well?

And so are coyotes feeding on these roaming cats. Then comes the woe is me crying about how their beloved cat was taken by coyote. Keep em in doors!

No, what's a waste of time is BOTH of you bantering back and forth flinging insults and clogging up a thread, looking for help, with both of your garbage.

Take the high road and leave it.

You're a biker too? Oh man, bikers are the worst! Clogging up the road thinking that just because their classified as "vehicles" they deserve the same space as cars. I hope you slip on an antifreeze spill!
