Damn, I thought NHL 10 was bad for boosting but NHL 11 takes it to a whole new level. A week after the game is out and the Online Team Play is already broken. 5'8" Snipers just whooping my ass like it is no one's business when I am 6'4" 220lbs. Just ridiculous.

That's about the only way. Outside of adjusting the contrast for limited results, there's not much you can do.

I'm a 2 way dman in be a pro, I'm enjoying the game so far except for the fact that after I scored the winning goal in the mem cup I was drafted by Columbus, and there's no trade me right now option.
The only frustrating thing is that I seem to hit the posts and crossbars at least 5 times a game.
The hitting model is a lot different and more dependant on timing and the opposing players make you look completely foolish is you misstime your hits.
Its also a lot more difficult to get the puck through from the point.
But the physics and the skating is much more realistic.
There are some frustrations in Be a Pro though.
A right winger on the right side will try to do it himself by drying to deke out the defenseman and he usually gets fed, he doesn't look to pass.
And everytime we win a face off in the offensive zone it seems like the center takes a weak shot on net instead of pulling the puck back to the blue line.

You and me both pal.
I put up 3 points in the memorial cup, got drafted 1st overall by the Islanders (which I don't mind at all).
I had an unfortunate sequence in the end of a playoff game in my first season, where the last 4 minutes of play were scrum faceoffs where a winger, usually okposo, came in from the wing and fired it on net. We were down a goal. It didn't seem to matter which faceoff strategy I used.
4 minutes.
Of faceoffs.
Brutal.

What's the quickest way to get the boosts that take a season or 2 to unlock? I read somewhere that you can sim every game in your BAP season until the last period and then just play from there, hoping you get a point or 2 in that span.

that is correct. you can sim the game an intervene in the last 5 minutes. there are tons of boosts that require the 2 seasons playing at least 40 games plus something else. many of those are offensive oriented. the best way to do it is create a sniper, put it on easy, tweak the sliders to make it even easier, and go through that way. then you can easily rack up points in that 5 minute period. its worth noting that the points and such that are needed have to be scored by you. so if you are simming and your character scores, that won't help in your quest to average a goal a game.
assuming you want to do it as quick as possible, just intervene in every other game. then that gets you 41 games. however, you may want to keep an eye on your teams record. making the playoffs and winning the cup are critical to unlocking a lot of the good ones.
i was actually able to unlock 6 of the boost packs this way too. i am currently using the 2 way forward boost pack as it is actually better than my defensive build with my rookie card. now that i have my pro card it would be closer, but i might wait till veteran to switch away from the boost pack. especially now that you dont have to have all the lame gold gear with it.

Playing mostly Season Mode right now.
I have the passing, shooting and hitting pretty much figured out, but I can't make a trade to save my life.
It seems that they've changed that too and made it much harder to pull the trigger on a deal, and no way can you trade 3 for 2, ever it seems.

cool little thing just happened. i plastered the cpu into the boards, as the guy was on the ground he tried to play the puck but tripped me instead and took a penalty. nothing major, but it is nice that instead of being stuck in an animation of falling over and getting up, they at least can still do stuff now.

That's happened to me twice now. Once he tripped me and took a penalty and once he was actually able to flip the puck over to his teammate before I could get it.

Hip checks are pretty awesome (not as awesome as NHL 98's ultra speed ones though).

Just had another freeze after a fight. I guess I'm turning fights off, they are useless anyways.

I see they haven't fixed the little fact that if a player goes down after blocking a shot, they won't skate off or anything until a player from that team touches the puck. Basically that leaves you shorthanded until you touch the puck.
On the plus side, I can run into the boards as often as I want, and I won't get injured like in NHL '10.

I just lost Souray for a few weeks for running into the boards. Of course, we all know he's injury prone.

Anyone know how to get a signed prospect (same draft year) into the lineup in Abbotsford? I signed an 18 year old kid and I want him playing. Did I miss something during the pre-season that I was supposed to do?

Straight out of the draft? They can't play in the AHL, so it's either the NHL or they go into your system.

Actually, that's correct. Unless a ref feels that the player has been grievously injured, they aren't supposed to call the play until the injured player's team regains possession of the puck.
I'm a 2 way dman in BAP...it's a million times more fun than defensive dman like I was in '10. I got drafted by the friggin' Oilers though, so that's pretty lame. Gonna have to build up the stats so I can get outta there.

You have to be 20 years or older to play in the AHL if you have been affiliated with the CHL.
In other words he has to play on your NHL team or be sent back to junior.
