Default Question about finding an old TV show

I'm looking for the complete series of Spenser for hire, which ran in the mid-1980's but I cannot find it anywhere including torrents (I check as a last resort). Would anyone have any idea where to get a copy?

L.A. Law is another show that I'm looking for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/

Spenser For Hire appears to only have movies released, and there's no mention of anything for L.A. Law. Looks like you're out of luck.

I had the same problem with L.A. Law.

I did go through the greyish-black market of sites like "tvshowsondvd". They are recorded off the TV. And by the looks of it, recorded on VHS. The quality is absolutely terrible. However, like most David E. Kelly shows, you really don't need the picture... like a radio show you can get the drift of what is going on with just the audio. I did have issues with giving my credit card to an obviously less-than-reputable source. So I went ahead and did what I had been planning to do for a while... applying for a credit card with a very low limit and using that for some internet purchases.

BTW - I am very much against piracy and breaking of copyright law. I will not use torrents to download anything that can be purchased at Future Shop or via iTunes. However, if a series as great as L.A. Law is not available, then you do what you have to do. Now when it does become available, I'll purchase it the day it comes out. Happened last month with "The Outer Limits". I had downloaded that last year, but it was just re-issued as complete seasons on DVD over the last month.

I know, I hate downloading shows unless there's absolutely no way of getting them, with the exception of downloading a show if I missed taping it on the PVR. Sometimes though, there really isn't any choice though. I wish they would have a DVD archive of all the shows that they've ever produced. Would make things a lot easier, especially with semi-obscure shows like Spenser for hire even though it was popular back when it was on.

Yeah that hawk was a good character. I would have loved it if he had his own show. He did a great job on DS9 though.

He did have his own show. It was titled "A Man Called Hawk". Sadly, it only lasted 13 episodes.

I'm still waiting for the release of "Sledgehammer" on DVD.

Now that was a funny show.

Captain Trunk: Hammer, I got a problem. Do you know a reporter named Phil Gum from Action News?
Sledge Hammer: I don't watch the news. I make it.
Captain Trunk: He wants to ride along with one of us... for one day.
Sledge Hammer: So what's the problem?
Captain Trunk: He chose you!
Sledge Hammer: Why me?
Captain Trunk: Because, Hammer, on paper, you have a perfect arrest record. You have put over a thousand men behind bars. God knows if any of them are guilty of anything!
Sledge Hammer: They look guilty to me.
Captain Trunk: Hammer, you don't seem to understand the point of my dilemma. I've been fighting with city hall for over two months now. They're talking about making cutbacks! The mayor is threatening this entire department! Do you understand what I'm saying?
Sledge Hammer: You want me to kill the mayor?
Captain Trunk: No! I'm saying this report will help us or hurt us. It could be good PR or bad PR. I'm ordering you to act responsibly!
Sledge Hammer: Don't worry captain. Me and my one-man band will give them a little wholesome family entertainment!
Captain Trunk: Hammer, put that gun away.
Captain Trunk: NOW GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!

Officers: [watching Hammer defuse a bomb] Go, Sledge Go! Go, Sledge Go!
Captain Trunk: Go, Bomb Go! Go, Bomb Go!

Sledge Hammer: [to reporter] I would like to address that particular stereotype if I may. Now, your stereotypical donut is nothing but dough and sugar fried in fat, am I right? Now that fat gums up your arteries and goes to your brain, and you turn liberal. And the next thing you know, Barry Manilow is on the turn-table and you're not going to work and you're voting for gun control. You see what I'm saying? You see the connection? That's why I eat granola

BTW - If there is a REALLY rare show that you can't find on these dark-grey-market sites, you can usually find them on Sell.com

I got "Samurai Pizza Cats" and "Street Legal" off sell.com
Thought about getting Littlest Hobo.

I would happily pay if "Power Play" ever came to DVD. Loved that show.
