Im guessing either a mini hockey stick broke the tv or a ball/puck shot by the hockey stick broke it.

There is no repairing it. Spider web trough the whole thing and no picture other then some pretty colors.
Do I just drop the carcass off at the local ecycle here in Airdrie?

First thing to do is treat both your kids to nice roundhouse kicks to the face region.

Seems like bad parenting to me. Society is crumbling.

You can recycle old/broken electronics at futureshop. Just drop them off around the customer service area.

It was a mini stick that let loose on a follow through. Still trying to get out of the kids if the goal was good.
Honestly, yelling and screaming wouldn't fix the tv. They were both VERY!!! sorry.
On the upside I get to do two of my favorite things. Research for major electronics purchase, and make said purchase.
Needless to say no more mini sticks in the Living room.

The only reasonable course of action is to destroy something they love. Maybe melting down some barbies/transformers (or whatever plastic toys kids are into these days) in the microwave would make them think twice next time.

It's toast. Same thing happened to my brother's 6 week-old 52' Toshiba LCD. His 4 year old son got frustrated playing xbox and threw the console at the TV. Spiderwebs & rainbows.
Apparently it can be fixed, but the cost to replace the LCD panel is pretty close to what the whole TV would cost new, so it's not really worth it. My brother got lucky because he had paid for his TV with a credit card that had a purchase insurance policy, so he was able to get it replaced. Not sure how you paid for yours or how long those purchase insurance things last, but it might be worth looking into.

If one of my kids did that, they would never get to use the TV /xbox again ... ever.
