Sorry dude, I disagree! Rob Maver will bounced back. His confidence is low right now but if he makes the next few long field goals, he'll go back up. He is a rookie and still young. It is better to make the mistakes now while the Stamps are playing well than when they are struggling or close to the end of the season. I am sure Dales, Chevrier and others will try to help him boost his confidence.

Yeah it's not just the missed field goals. His kickoffs don't travel deeper than the 15 yard line at best. Teams are continuing to get starting field position near or over the 40 yard line. Needs to be addressed before it costs them an important game.

Just dawned on me. That is Barry Trotz' off-season job.

I've been to TaylorFielx twice on the last 4 years, once for the 07 labour day game and last year against Toronto when Dressler broke his leg, neither time did they have guys. Didn't see any guy cheerleaders at the GC past year either.
Maybe I'm wrong I don't really pay much attn to that stuff.
Stamps are no doubt the class of the West. Bigs games against the riders coming up.

Honestly as a rookie kicker Maver was going to have his struggles and it's better it's happening now than later or in the playoffs.
He needs to get confidence back and I think he will. As long as Hufnagel doesn't use him beyond 45 yards Maver shouldn't be too much a weak link this season. I'm more disappointed with the cover teams and return teams. Murphy has been Howell-like lately with his 5-yard returns and the Stamps have allowed a lot of big returns.
Big game coming up against Saskatchewan. I think the team is due for a letdown but if the Riders lose to Winnipeg this week it might not matter when all is said and done.

That is a real weak link right there. Prefontaine hit from 57 yards.

Another great game for Joffrey Reynolds, and Cornish had a couple nice runs as well. I love how much more emphasis we're putting on the run game lately. Definitely a winning formula as the weather cools. Also, I was at the game and I was very impressed to see how well-represented the Stamps were at that game(can't say the same for the Esks. Att was announced at 37K, but it looked like MAYBE 30K. I've been at that game before when it's brought in 56K).
On a side note, that's the first and last time I sit in College Corner. I don't know if its just a sign of me getting older and coming out of party mode, but so many people in that section were driving me nuts. I was all Stampeder'd out and I couldn't go down the stairs without some drunk Esks fan trying to put his shoulder into me. We also had a bunch of hammered Stamps fans behind us who I wanted to murder. I was with a bunch of Esks fans so they were in my buddies' ear a lot, which was hilarious for me at first and I was having a good time with it. But then they started taking it 100 times too far. At one point I actually thought I was gonna end up in a scrap with another Stamps fan, I was thinking how weird it'd be to see a guy in a Copeland jersey scrapping a guy in a Burris jersey at Commonwealth. Just a bunch of drunk dummies in that section, no matter who they're cheering for. No wonder the cops just park themselves in that section all game, they stay busy in there.

That was quite the boot by Prefontaine...The good news is Maver is still young and hopefully can develop the leg strength required to hit from 45-49 yards out on a fairly consistent basis. Dales has been pretty good this season at the coffin corner kicks and with the way the defence is playing, the Stamps either get a safety or the ball back in great field position which isn't a bad Plan B.

Edmonton has guys because the Oilers aren't playing hockey at the moment. Most other CFL teams, RIders, Stamps etc just have about a dozen or two girls who can barely count to 8 let alone stay in rythem or do any actual gymnastics.

At halftime Maver came out and was practicing kicks at the exact same spot where Prefontaine hit it. He made all 3 attempts. Mind you that was with his helmet off and no pressure, but it was still impressive.

Was at the game last night - we had an absolute blast.
Those Esk fans were feeling pretty confident after the 1st half, but it was clear who was coming out on top after this one.
Didn't have any incidents apart from being bombarded with a lot of random insults (especially after they walk past you, calling you a c*cksucker, when they are just out of your sight lines), but there was never any violence or threats of it for that matter.
There was also quite a bit of "at least we got the Oilers", to which they were promptly reminded of finishing 30th overall in the NHL last season.

Relax guys, Maver is young.
Actually I feel much better about Maver after just seeing DeAngelis just hook a FG 20 yeards wide!

Maver doesn't instill much confidence in me right now. Thankfuly it's still regular season games. We're going to need better consistancy from him come playoff time..

It was hilarious, I was getting heckled because the Stamps were ONLY winning by 2 points at the half!

Re: Maver
We must remember that coming from College/CIS, the season is much shorter. CIS is 8 games. Therefore, Maver is used to playing about this many games in a whole year.
I seem to recall that Sandro had a tough couple of games around this time in his rookie season. Maver will snap out of it as the season wears on.
