Actually pretty compelling when your team is involved, both defenses were good, the Saints run d got it done in the end. Stupid kicker.

Interesting game (or unexpected at least).

MIN lost it in the second half by not stopping the run (normally a strength) and bad penalties. I thought MIN's challenge should have been upheld - never saw the ball touch the ground, and it cost them a time out.

NO's left guard is impressive. Saints only had 3 penalties - impressive for week one.

Really? I thought it was pretty apparent that after it bounced off his hands, the ball hit his body then the ground. Yes Carl Nicks is a large and angry human, still not sure why the Saints didn't attack deep more, but a win is a win, especially against that team.

I thought after the Meachem drop in the endzone and then the missed field goal that the Vikings were destined for a late comeback. My hopes were dashed but I think they will be alright once the WRs get on the same page with Favre. Hated to see McKinnie carted off.

Favre looked brutal in the second half (all I saw), where the hell was Bernard Berrian in their offence? what happened to him as the #1 option?

Tracy Porter is a Hoosier, maybe there was some confusion as to who was being talked about?

Oh, and I'll take the "W" however it comes!

The two TD drives were beautiful. Pierre Thomas looks motivated this season. I can't explain Hartley, the kid was money at the end of last season.

Berrian is looking pretty useless out there. Camarillo should be getting the start next week. I was pretty worried about the defense after the Saints' first possession, but they really got it together after that. Just need Griffin back.

I liked how NO got the first downs to kill the game off with 5 minutes to go. That's what World Champions do. They even threw some short passes. Often coaches are so scared that they run the ball 3 times into a pile and punt. Then we would have seen the great Brett Favre comeback!

Not too bad of a game considering it's the first one of the season.

So do we get to see each teams players this week (or, goodness forbid, all season) do the "PA solidarity salute" before each game?

Bleh.

Reminded me of the Nation of Domination WWF faction, circa 1999.

Scott Taylor on Fan 960 is complaining about the officiating last night? "Phantom holding calls", "blown challenge". What do other Vike fans think? NO only had 3 penalties. He calls it all "fishy".

Pet peeve - NFL teams calling themselves World Champions, when no one else in the world plays this brand of football. Superbowl Champion is just fine. Same goes for MLB and NBA.

True.. although for some reason in the NFL I don't mind it as much, I use it sometimes myself cause it sounds good.

Totally agree that in MLB and NBA it's dumb. Especially cause they really do have a World Champion. (Japan and Spain respectively)

I think Vilma should have gotten a flag on the interception play, as he was all over Schiancoe.

As for the Camarillo challenge, I thought it would get reversed, but clearly not enough evidence to suggest it wasn't an incomplete pass.

Other then that, I didn't see much that I could complain about....outside of that sputtering offense!

The officiating was just fine IMO. Better than a field littered with orange hankies all game long. I like it when they let players play.

The "blown challenge" is nothing short of sour grapes IMO...there was nothing there to reverse the call on the field. the Vilma/Schiancoe thing was borderline...but if that is all there was to complain about I hope that crew does the Superbowl!

MLB is World Series Champions, not World Champions. The World Series is over 100 years old. 100 years ago, there was only the American and National leagues in professional baseball world wide. Sure things have changed since, however most people realize that the World Series is the series between the National and American League. It is a century old term for the series.

We all know that. Some people still use the term World Champions when talking about the World Series winner.

Hahaha I forgot all about that! I saw that last night when I was drunk after coming home from the Stamps game, I laughed so hard when I saw it. I actually think it kinda suits him, will take some getting used to though. Anyone for a mustache ride?
