The US has never treated them that way. Hence they have the Constitutional RIGHT to build their Mosque.
Wouldn't have anything to do with the US helping the biggest scumbags in the region stay in power. A big issue with the middle east is the way the US has manipulated political situations there for their advantage.

That's like saying the Pentagon is a mosque because it has a Muslim prayer room in it.

And there will be prayer rooms for all faiths, not just Muslims.

Well, if you ignore the space programs of Russia/former-USSR, Japan, China, and India, you're absolutely right about that.

The Pentagon has had a Mosque for over a decade now. It was Never funded by radicals and it certainly wasn't placed it a location that would be disrespectful.

Manhattan has a Mosque already NEAR the site. It has been part of Manhattan for 3 decades. So why the new Mosque with a guy that says the USA is at fault for the terrorist attack? Hmmmmmm

Nothing, I was simply referring to your points about the US radicalizing a segment of the Muslim world.

Seabass...go live in Saudi Arabia.....maybe you will understand then. Or maybe you will re-affirm your hypothesis that we'd be space bound in the 1700s if not for religion.

If you dont like the answer too bad.

I gave you an equal timeline to match cultures length about 1500 years. You asked to compare cultures not the length of time for all humanity.
Do you know what people of Islam will be up to when their faith is 2000 years old?

Yes i should go live it Saudi Arabia so I can understand. I am well aware of what Islam is up to today.

I stand by my "hypothisis" that religion has held back science. Perhaps you need to move on to the topic at hand as we will not agree and the fact you keep bringing it up makes you look kinda sad.

Not only does the Pentagon have a Muslim prayer room, it's located on the exact spot where terrorists crashed American Airlines Flight 77 into the building -- not two blocks away.

I'm not the one who has trouble with history considering that it wasn't me who claimed that only Westerners have explored the stars contrary to reality.

So you're saying that building a Muslim prayer room in the Pentagon on the exact spot that was destroyed on 9/11 is not disrespectful but building a Muslim community center (that includes a mosque) two blocks away from the WTC site is? What kind of twisted logic did you use to come to that conclusion?

1. It's not a Mosque.

2. Even if it were a Muslim version of those super Churches that scatter the Southern US it doesn't matter. Maybe they need more room for the congregation, maybe they want a nicer Mosque down the block to get away from the riff-raff. It really doesn't matter why they want to build, or even what they are building. They went through the approval process just like any other house of worship or Burlington Coat Factory would have and were approved. End. Of. Story.

3. What's more disrespectful, a community center support by a variety of faiths or a discount clothing store? What about the strip clubs? The dive bars? The empty warehouses that are often used by junkies? The shops peddling 9/11 souvenirs? What about a parking garage that reaches into the depths of the former WTC site, into an area littered with the ashes of the dead, is that more disrespectful?

I enjoyed how seamless the transition from Calgaryborn to HOZ was. They're like right-wing tag-team wrestlers. They need a catchy team name... how about The Mosqued Bandits!

DUUUUUUUUUUUDE.................DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU UUUUUUUUUUUUUU
UUUUUUUUUUUUDE...... DUDE!

HERE, learn what happened after the fall of Rome. I believe that when you say "Religion" has held us back that you really mean CHRISTIANITY held us back. And that is simply not the fact.

Basically, it comes down to you to provide the evidence of which non-religious group would have driven us forward. In the face of, evidence of non-Christian forces trashing modernity right after the fall of Rome.
