what i am hoping for is the listing of what it takes to unlock things. i saw that a partial list came out, but i thought for sure some of the people with an early copy would have posted a better list.
i am particularly interested in how to unlock the actual slots. the reason is that if they are hard to unlock, i will get the version from gamestop that has the bauer boost pack or whatever its called. if unlocking slots is easy i will get it at walmart which i can get at midnight. i know its only a 10 hour difference, but its still something i have been debating.
Place in Mississauga is breaking street date, should have my game first thing tomorrow. I was going to do the drive from London tonight, but I have a party to go to, and already shouldn't be driving after having after work patio beers, but my buddy to the rescue, on his way as I type!!!

Except they sold out of copies at 5pm from what I heard....
Well here is a case when piracy is good. Was gonna pick up the PS3 version but after playing the full Xbox 360 version tonight decided to go with that system instead.

Due to it being free or do you just think it'll be better on Xbox?

Makes sense. It's not like there was a demo on both systems to compare.

I hadn't played my xbox in awhile and I think I like the controllers better for hockey. Although I would have to renew xbox live and I noticed the game had some slow down on the xbox but that could just be from the copy. Its a tough decision still.
Of course I didn't get to play with any of the online features as I was playing on my modded/banned xbox. Its a really tough decision. Maybe a coin toss in the store on Tuesday.

Considering it was just as easy for me to get the full game as it was to sign up an extra gold account to get the demo? You have fun with your demo.
it sounds like it's better. I mean, it says they don't trade away top tier guys like crazy anymore, and hell...I don't think it's all that difficult to imagine a world where chris drury does get sent down to the minors.
It's always a work in progress, and to me it sounds like they've made notable strides this year.
...also, that review is a bit odd. They paint such a negative picture, but still give it a 9.0. That's either a testament to the author's inability to write, or the fact that the NHL series is so good year in and year out, that he need only list the negatives?
I am sure everyone either A) knows or B) has already done it but; if you download the demo for NHL 11 and play the tournament in Ultimate Team and win you'll get a "Rare" card in your first pack for the release game of NHL 11. Also, invite someone from your friend list, you'll get another free pack. So I think you'll get 2 extra packs plus 1 rare card if you download demo, invite, and win the tournament over Canada.
So after a few full games and playing around with the sliders I love the new changes.
There are still some really odd glitches, but the actual gameplay is miles ahead of last year's game. I've seen a goalie throw the puck into his own net, and had a clear cut Glencross goal given to Conroy for no reason. I tried to find Modano in order to put him on Detroit's roster, but I think EA just removed him completely expecting a retirement.
After reading the reviews here and the game informer review, there's no doubt I'm going to buy this game and play the stink out of it, but I think I'm going to feel about it much the same way I feel about pretty much all the sports games on this generation of consoles.
They are so good, and so close to capturing the feel of their sport in so many ways, that the areas where they fail, fall down or don't quite make it stand out SO MUCH that it almost ruins the game.

Hey, if you ever find a nice realistic set of sliders, please let me know. (NHL10 had major problems with the accuracy of slapshots)
