Default New sim and position changes

A few things folks

First - I'd like everyone to download the new GM Editor and start playing with it. You can do so here:
http://sths.simont.info/Download_En.php

You need to download:
STHS V2 Client : Version 0.9.11

or

STHS V2 Client for Mac and Linux Only : Version 0.9.11

In addition the GM roster file has been updated and is available at the usual spot (go to cphl.calgarypuck.com then click rosters then click Download Roster Files.

Each GM needs to do this - and start playing around with the sim to make sure they know how to use it. Post any problems/questions here so we can work through it together.

Don't leave this until the last minute - do it now so we can identify and fix any problems before the pre-season.

In addition you may now send in position changes. A clarification on this rule since we had some confusion during the playoffs. Each player plays one position and one position only. That position must be the same on your GM page as in the sim file.

If a guy is listed as a LW - that's the only position you can play him in INCLUDING on special teams.

Otherwise it's impossible for us to track and identify anyone playing guys out of position

Any questions regarding any of the above?

ok. I think the answer to this follow up question is obvious but I'll ask it anways

on the PK 4 on 5 then you have a C playing C and either a LW or RW as the W?

on a 3 on 5, only a C can play at forward?

Probably a good thing - we had major problems last year with too many farm guys getting injured and teams not being able to ice proper AHL squads. This way there will be enough subs to get teams through injuries on the farm.

You underestimate the amount of injuries we had on the farm

Does anyone remember the file that you need to make the windows version work? Mine doesn't work and I'm not sure if that's the reason

so for all of us Newbies that have never played with Simon, I think more education is in order.
Please provide helpful hints with screen shots if you can.

First thing I notice is when I d/l Simon it has an old GM listed and his info and doesn't give me the option to change it?

Second is...it looks like we must put the copy of the editor in the same folder we want it to save files in? In other words to save your lines to a specific folder your editor must be in that folder as well?

Third is...do we grab the last lines file we submitted to update the editor at all times or does it hold all updates in memory or storage? Doesnt look like the editor uses the same file type as the file created.

some Simon 101 please?

I downloaded it and it worked fine while I was at work, but at home it's not working at all, keeps telling me the files are incomplete and are missing the .sh1 .sh2 .sh3 files. Could the problem be that I have Windows 7 at home and XP at work?
