Is the outrage due to the fact that:
- They are puppies and in western culture we have an attachment to dogs?
- That she appears to be enjoying the act?
- The manner in which the puppies were killed?

Or is there another reason?

I guess because many of have loved a dog more than many people and know what pain it was when we lost it.

Also dogs are probably one of the only creatures on earth that would love you more than itself.

I have skipped the first pages of this thread as I really dont want to know the details.

I cant agree the backlash would be smaller but being cruel to animals just breaks my heart.

Which is kinda weird that I feel that way cause that story about the dogs eating that child, a month or so ago, didn't bother me in the least.

I can't believe people are feeling sorry for the puppy tosser, she deserves everything 4chan throws at her.

I agree that any harm to animals sucks, and it always gets to me too. I just try to keep perspective on these types of things, and to me this is an example of the victim being one of the most popular animals in western society and therefore the outrage is much greater compared to what it would be if it were any other animal.

We also tend to have control over our dog population. In some countries, there are serious feral dog problems. They kill livestock and even attack people and pets. What we see as pups from a companion animal could easily be seen as unwanted pests to others depending on the circumstance.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not giving her any sympathy, I was just commenting on our western society's view of animals.

CNN is covering this now. I don't know if they're the first or whatever. I guess we won't see this just "disappear." Hopefully some media coverage can help track down these scum.

If PETA could only stick to these sorts of causes, maybe I would get on board with them.

Could have used them to run around, play fetch in mine fields or something

Yeah, she may be disturbed. It's just weird that there can be other factors, ie: maybe she has a mental condition, maybe like others have said, she grew up on a farm and it's normal to her, and she laughs to deal with it. But the reasoning is beside the point. I just find it very disturbing that people have their lives ruined by these sick ***** with no trial, so to speak, and millions of people laugh and love it.
I agree. I feel bad for the poor baby dogs, but damn some serious hate is going around and a lot of people are talking about it. The video is cruel, but its kind of funny how things like this grow to epic proportions about these things.

I always had more fun with a bat. Mind you a .270 is also a laugh.

In some areas the rewards are up to $2 a tail now.

Ever heard of a Pound? or Shelter? In the age that we live in, we now have that. If you are not going to keep and animal, then surrender it! Don't be an irresponsible human being. Your responsibility as a human is to take care of the animals. If your female has an unplanned litter, THAN TAKE IT TO THE POUND!
