I could be crazy, but I swear I saw a USB port on the picture they showed, they just didn't mention it. Probably "useless" like the current atv.

Edit: yep it's there.

I stream from a PC to the now older model of the Apple TV with no problems.

As long as they are in the format above, yes. If they are avi or mkv, then no. It's highly unlikely they will work unless you've encoded them specifically to watch on an apple device.

The NAS would probably have to have the feature of being an iTunes server, but that's something a lot of NASes do nowadays.

And as long as the file is in the limited formats they support.

I'm pretty underwhelmed by the new Apple TV. Price is good, but the function seems about the same as the one I have right now.

The new nano looks awesome. I totally want one of those. It would great for the gym. The iPhone is way too bulky for working out with and running.

That's some pretty weak video capabilities. This is one severely crippled device. Other websites I have looked at say that the TV rental is only available in the US. Canada only gets Movie rentals. Weak.
With Netflix coming to Canada and a PS3 with PS3 media server running what exactly is the appeal of this device? Where are the apps? Apple had a great opportunity to take over the living room with this device. But in it's current form, it's a $99 device to watch Apple's drm'ed media on your TV.

I think you are seeing the optical audio port.

Edit: no, it does appear to have a USB port.

The Apple website says it's the A4 chip.

Dude seriously needs to get some new clothes. Does he just have a closet full of wrinkled black sweaters and $10 Levis?

This technical demo of the castle game looks amazing. Can't wait to see the final product. Airplay also looks AMAZING, I can't wait for that feature, and just for that will be getting another AppleTV.

I'm honestly clueless as to why apple won't do 1080p over apple tv. Astounding.

Maybe the studios won't let them?
