I think (in the case of the pros) that it's more a case of the factory as 1) scouting tactic 2) useless building (when building a bio ball) and 3) hope and prayer (for potential dmg if not spotted)

This I could understand, but it was just a factory, no attack to go along with it.

Has anybody been playing games doing Day9's funday monday? I hadn't played in almost a month and this brought some of the fun back to the game.

The current Funday Monday is that you have to play 3v3/4v4s and you can only make one unit all game. And you have to announce that unit to your opposition at the beginning.

Examples:
Phoenix/Immortal/Hellion..awesome.
Sentry/Raven/Phoenix/Tanks = awesome.

So much fun.

Try playing Phantom, totally addicting, you and 8 players all start on a map. There are 2 Phantom, randomly choosen, and they must kill the other 6 players to win. To balance out the map a bit there is 2 Paly's, Phantoms and Paly's get extra minerals. Over time Phantoms get more money and a high unit limit, all other are capped at 200 units. The rest of the players are slayers....just normal player with no extra minerals.

All players can see each other, unless voted to be blind, you have figure out who is what, join up and fight before phantoms can get too big. You lie, pick fights, blame other players..... it's quite fun. There is always people dieing, usually for the wrong reasons.....never the same game twice.

Does anyone play this game on a laptop? if so do you recommend an external mouse? Does it make much of a difference?

I would definitely use an external mouse. Track pads just arent fast enough to keep up.

I can play find with my laptop keyboard... unless you're super hardcore and need one of those gamer keyboards. Not sure what the difference is. However, you will need an external mouse. I tried it once, it's manageable but seeing as it's a 30-45 minute game it gets tiresome on the trackpad.

I've found I'm much better at watching replays than actually having skill at this game.

I'll echo the comments above - get a mouse, don't worry about a keyboard.

If you're just goofing around with friends the trackpad will work, but if you're competitive in the slightest you will want a real mouse.

You don't need the most expensive one either.

my last game was pissed off that them so me and this other slayer ( no extra minerals ) said screw it and we joined up and killed both phantoms, both paly's and the other 2 slayers just to prove apoint.... LOL

I played a few games, though I always get slayer. Best game so far: we rooted out one Phantom and were trying to figure out who was the last one. One guy asks someone "I'm at 170 food, what are you at?" and the guy says "261"...
