Air America was the left-wing version of what Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity are. Although there were some commentators that weren't all crazy.

Just so I got this straight you dont listen to Beck or Hannity but you know what their equal is on Air America.

Yes there are crazies on both sides I will never deny it. But Maddow as my original point, is not one of them and I thought it wrong to have her in that group.

The crazies on the left are nowhere near the status as the right crazies are in their party. Limbaugh last year was the defacto leader of the right.

BTW - Air America died. There wasn't an appetite for a combative, opinionated, extreme wing on the left. There is absolutely an appetite for it on the right as witness by Rush's ratings and FOX ratings.

Except the whole system isn't public-ally funded. There are certain elements that are privately controlled. A true socialist system wouldn't have those.

To me, I don't see him as damaging as others do. IMO, the belief that one side is better than the other is far more damaging than anything Beck says simply because it doesn't result in anything being fixed.

Now, I don't know how Beck talks about the Republicans, but I would imagine a lot of his 'ratings' right now are due to the Democrats/Obama being in charge.

Either way, people are frustrated. And they have the right to be.

Debatable whether or not they died due to mismanagement, or whether it was due to not receiving the ratings.

Despite Air America's demise, Progressive talk radio has endured and some shows have thrived. Democracy Radio talkers Ed Schultz and Stephanie Miller, now with Dial Global, continue to enjoy a strong following with Schultz arguably leading the way as the only liberal talker on both radio and television as a result of the launch of The Ed Show on MSNBC in April 2009. Bill Press and Thom Hartmann, also with Dial Global, remain on the air with loyal audiences.

BTW, there are still left-wing shows out there.
