CGY has been real sloppy in garbage time all year, giving up big plays and TDs.

I did not notice Lewis much tonight.

Too many pass plays being called, when the running game was killing BC.

Henry made some great plays with his legs, but continues to force the ball 30 yards down field when he only needs 10.

Kick coverage could be a lot better.

I don't think Printers crossed the goal line for the first BC TD.

Maver was way short on one FG attempt - a bit of a concern.

Yeah, that won't happen. Still, Stamps should be able to hit 9-1 and clinch a playoff spot 2 weeks from tonight.
Haven't they already clinched the playofffs? 7 wins should be enough.

Well, yeah, but 9-1 while the Lions and Schmoes are 1-9 would make it mathematical.

Not much has been made of this but it appears Maver has even less of a leg than DeAngelis does. His kickoffs only get as deep as the 20 yard line which may have something to do with the Stampeders having possibly the worst return coverage in the league. Everytime the Stampeders kicked the ball last night the Lions were getting close to midfield starting position. This will be a real issue against good teams like the Riders and Als.

Maver's leg is questionable, but I think it can be developed as well - he's still young.

Kick coverage is an issue period. Dales has been punting AWESOME this year, but still the coverage blows. This is the one area I would like to see the Stamps lock down heading into the 2nd half of the season.

One big kick/punt return is all a team needs in a close playoff game, and the Stamps are too prone to giving up those big returns at the moment.

I was shocked he came up short from 48 yards out. As a CFL kicker you HAVE to be able to at least kick the ball 50 yards.

Yup but he's not quite a true CFL kicker yet. Only 8 games into his rookie season. He'll get stronger. Plus in Calgary he's helped by the altitude

Is that really still the case, though? I agree that it should be desirable, but in reality, how many CFL kickers line up for 50+ field goals in the league today? I don't think Congi does for the Riders, Macallum doesn't for BC, Prefontaine maybe for the Eskies.

Dales has been pretty good this season with the coffin corner kicks, and with the Stamps D, they'll get the ball back in great field position (or force the opposing team to think about giving up a safety).

Congi had a 54 yard field goal vs. Edmonton, Fatso had a 50 yard field goal vs. Edmonton, and Prefontaine does not have a 50 yard field goal.

Aren't Congi and Fatso the same person?

I think Chinese Porridge had wind aid for that one too.

In the end, I think Maver's leg will only get stronger as he works out harder and has the Stamps working with him on technique and customizing his work outs.

More important IMO is the fact that the kid so far has nailed all of the important kicks... you really can't train that.
