TONS of companies run wire these days.

Hardly the necessity of unionized workers.

So was it worth it to the union to stay out for 4 months? Did they make up the lost money with gains in the new CBA?

LOL..its like the NHL/PA on a smaller scale. I will NEVER understand this mentality.
My point isn't that union workers have to do the job, it's that I disagree with the characterization that all Telus employees are minimum wage dimwits who could be replaced tomorrow.

I've got a picket-line crossing buddy who runs lines and installs phones for Telus and it's an insult to him (and for some reason to me) to say that he's on par with a burger flipper. That's all.

Heh. Fair enough,

There is nothing unique or special about most TWU member's skills. A notable few are err... special.

Better?

Hey I used to do it part of my job as well. Im certainly not insinuating that its as easy as running the fry machine at McD's. Though it's not rocket science wither.

My point is merely...was it worth it to sit out 4 months?? Did they gain what they wanted, and will they make up for the lost wages?

I somehow doubt it.
