Ironic that the woman is from Coventry, in the UK 'sending someone to Coventry' is a union term meaning no one on the shop floor will ever talk to them or acknowledge their existance.
Which is pretty much what is going to happen to the woman.

It shows that people who are animal lovers also enjoy food that was a living animal. They get so mad when a dog or cat gets hurt, but have no problem killing a cow for food and clothing. They will say cats are pets and are cute, but animals are animals. It doesn't bother me that in some cultures people eat cats, dogs, cows or chickens. It does bother me that people would want to hurt a person for putting a cat in a bin. It wasn't right what she did, but does not deserve violence against her. If a kid at junior high put your son in a locker, would you go and punch the other kid?

No, but I would show my kid how to throw a nice right cross.
Hypocritical as it is, I think there is a definite difference between animals bred to sustain society, and house pets that are loved and cared for as a member of a family.
If you said that you had a pet cow, and you loved it and it slept with you in bed and let you tickle it on the tummy, well then all the power to you.
I hear they make various flavored typed of tofu to keep people interested.

Probably should have brought it up with your neighbors instead of taking it out on the cat...it doesn't know any better; it's a freaking cat.

It sounds like the cat was just helping you by adding additional fertilizer to your garden.

People who abuse animals for any reason are sick, twisted *****. Hunting, ie killing an animal quickly and humanely is one thing, but you have to think there's something wrong mentally when people can willfully injure animals. Just brutal.

Man, the UK is such a big brother state with the highest number of CCTV cameras per capita in the world.

She didn't buy a livestock cat and cook it for a meal! She didn't kill a cat for clothing! She harassed it for no reason other then she is cruel! I also have no problem with societies that eat cats. It's throwing a cat into a garbage bin I have a problem with! If someone had put a cow into a garbage bin people would probably have close to the same response!!

No I would hope after his father heard what he had done he would smack him across to rear with his belt! Oh wait, I guess in today's age that would be child abuse and the father would go to jail! Should probably buy the kid an xbox!

Yeah, but then they are able to catch perps (like this one) in the act. Otherwise they would have never known this lady was one sick puppy.
I'd much rather have everyone on camera than have the US mode "everyone should be carrying for personal protection".

I'd rather be able to have a concealed carry or open carry license than my every move and action be filmed surreptitiously.

You're probably filmed 100 times per day in Calgary and I doubt you're losing any sleep over that.

No, because I hide all day in my mother's basement, afraid of the light.

I probably would want to punch someone who put a human in a trash can for 16 hours too.

Lady who puts random cat in a garbage bin for 16 hours, I hope that one day she will experience 16 hours in a dark confined space not knowing if she will ever get out alive (maybe burried alive for a while).
Lady who does that to my cat... I would make her eat dirty kitty litter.

Folks should lighten up, she was just acting out a George Carlin joke. Mind you she does lose a few style points for using a bin and not a box.

That's a lot of corporal punishment in this thread.

This whole "why do people get upset when a pet is abused, but never when a human is abused" comment confuses the hell out of me since the most irate people seem to get here is when a child has been killed.
I don't understand why you can't have compassion for people AND animals. I don't think the choice is either/or. Some people seem to think that compassion for animals is misplaced until such time as each and every human on the planet no longer suffers.

But how did she get her hands on that cat in the first place? If the owners are letting it wander the neighborhood, then this is exactly the sort of monstrous act to which the cat is susceptible. Or cars, coyotes, kids, antifreeze etc...
Keep your pets in your home or yard! Be a responsible owner. Your cat (or dog) doesn't know to follow the rules of polite society - and you need to protect them from the a-holes out there.
|
How does one keep a cat in a yard anyways? I've had cats that I've let out in the backyard and they disappear and come back in a couple hours.... But that's what cats do... and supposed to do... is it not? People get to worked up about stuff... probably cause they have nothing better to do...
