It baffles me that punching someone is fine, but putting a cat in a bin is terrorism.
Every time I see an animal thread or read the comments on an animal related article, I think the same thing.

Sounds like you'd have a better understanding if you owned and cared for a pet.

Have to wonder what that woman has done to animals behind closed doors, this was out in the street during broad daylight.

What she did was pretty darn cruel; according to the article the cat was stuck in there for nearly 16 hours which is a fairly lengthy amount of time.

If she were to be punched in the gut by some random stranger I'd feel a whole lot more sympathy for her if she didn't say, toss a defenseless animal into a bin from which it had no chance of escaping out of by itself.

This is coming from a person who doesn't even like cats...

I'd use fire to kill her.

No, we should put her in a tiger cage filled with starving tigers, and cover her in tuna.

Maybe she will think of things a little differently.

Today at lunch I had a delicious steak. Hopefully the cow was killed in a way that wasn't cruel, but yet still killed so I can enjoy my meal. Tonight, I will add chicken to the list of dead animals I've eaten today.

I've owned 4 dogs.

I'm not saying that abuse against animals is OK. Because it's not. I never abused any of my dogs. But the reprisals upon humans for doing something to an animal is something I find illogical and basically just an emotional response to something sad.

I just don't see harming an animal worse than harming a human. It's just weird to me that we don't flinch over seing someone decapitated or mutilated or abused, but when something happens to an animal, it's a huge outcry and lynch mob. That's all i'm saying.

In this case, the lady seemed like she knew what she was doing, and if what she did was against the law (doesn't look like it is) then she should be punished. I have no problem with that. But I find it odd, shoot another human, nobody really cares. Put a cat in a garbage can, look the f out.

Those animals fulfill their purpose in life. I'm going to get flamed for it, but there is definitely a difference between a house pet and a methane producing beef factory.

edit: and yes I did enjoy my steak sandwhich at lunch, because cows are delicious when cooked with the proper amount of steak spice and peppercorn sauce.

So that lady is a beast for doing that. We all realize that and agree.

But how did she get her hands on that cat in the first place? If the owners are letting it wander the neighborhood, then this is exactly the sort of monstrous act to which the cat is susceptible. Or cars, coyotes, kids, antifreeze etc...

Keep your pets in your home or yard! Be a responsible owner. Your cat (or dog) doesn't know to follow the rules of polite society - and you need to protect them from the a-holes out there.

I'm glad there was no cameras watching me throw rocks, snowballs, firecrackers etc. at my next door neighbors cat, after it kept using our flowerbeds for its litter box. We have 2 cats and a dog, but only 1 cat goes outdoors, and doesn't leave our backyard. People who let their cats out to crap on their neighbors properties, piss me off. That cat probably does that to that lady, and she is just fed up with it. My neighbors cat got run over by a car on New Years day. No more crap in our flowerbeds this year.

It's not like I'm for cutting off this woman's head and hanging her body from a bridge ... I simply think a quick right-cross with a little bit of force behind it applied to the back of her neck is totally reasonable.

Because in most cases an animal like a cat is defenseless. And while some of us "don't flinch over seing someone decapitated or mutilated or abused" alot of us do. You will never catch me watching a decapitation or mutilation of a human because it's disgusting.
