I can't believe people actually fall for these tricks, and will actually go see a 162 minute movie for 8 minutes of new footage.

Honestly, how much of that 8 minutes are you even going to recognize as being new?
I saw this movie months ago, there is no way I'd be able to remember it well enough that I'd be able to notice the 5% of the movie that is different or new.

I never saw it the first time around, so I might go see it this time. I get in for free anyway, and yet I go to maybe 2 movies a year.

I doubt that 8 minutes is going to make this a good story. You go to Avatar to oooh and ahhhh about the 3d effects, but its not likely a movie that you really need to spend 20 bucks on to see twice. If it wasn't for the 3d, Avatar would be a pretty underwhelming movie.

Avatar does remind me of that movie that ends up on Peachtree TV 10 times a week.

No movie in particular. I'm just saying that I could see Avatar being shown (edited of course) on Peachtree TV frequently a couple years down the road.
