River of Light This Saturday
This sounds like it'll be pretty cool to watch, hopefully the weather doesn't suck. Not sure if the smoke will help this or hinder viewing. The main event happens this Saturday night:
The pinnacle event takes place Aug. 21 at 9:30 p.m. with the release of 500, 80 cm balloons that will float down the Bow from Edworthy to Prince's Island, where they will float into the lagoon.

Hopefully they've thought about the temporary bridge thats up right before Princes Island. There are little dividers that push them all under 2 spans. could have a logjam of light.

It's not that hard in a minivan- you can just put a bed in the back where the seats are supposed to go and sha-bam!
