The whole takeover process is being screwed and you know its the yanks who are screwing it.

Meanwhile, on the pitch, I didnt want to bash Rafa because I thought he was a good manager and a great man, but he is really starting to piss me off by trying to poach all his former Liverpool players.

First Masch is rumoured to go to Inter to link up with Rafa, and now there is supposedly an offer for Kuyt.

Quote:
Inter have stepped up their interest in Kuyt after seeing a move for Genoa's Giuseppe Sculli stall and the Netherlands international was conspicuous by his absence in Liverpool's Europa League tie against Trabzonspor on Thursday night.
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/st...nsfers&cc=5901

And if Inter is so keen on Kuyt, where is their offer for Masch? They just expect to take these players for free. Well, I hope Roy isnt having any of that.

Not to mention the prospect of Aquilani being 'loaned' to an Italian club. I wonder which Italian club? Inter perhaps?

See, when Aquilani played, I liked what he showed. To me, he was the logical replacement for Stevie in games where Roy needs to rest him, Aquilani plays the same position and hes creative. But now he's just being tossed. My GOD men! This guy replaced Alonso! What a waste!

Get the Yanks out. Get this sorted. Now!

Rafa has no control over the transfers. Moratti has the full say. Rafa can suggest a player he wants, but he has no guarantee a bid will be launched.

In my opinion though, I think Inter will offer something like 20-22M for Mascherano right on or around deadline day, as if to say take it or leave it. It's convenient for the Yanks getting some debt payment money and as a bonus they can say we couldn't reinvest it because of the timing. Of course we won't see that money in January anyways.

I get that, but hes obviously telling them to acquire a bunch of his former players. I doubt Moratti was independently going to target Masch and Kuyt and probably Aquilani whether Rafa was there or not.

Right now these Yanks are really killing this club.

Irresponsible tackle from the get go, and could have cause a pretty vicious injury, thankfully it didn't. Yellow card would have been fully deserved, a bit harsh with the red card, but I'm happy those kinds of borderline calls are finally being made.

Gerrard should have been booked for his tackle early in the game, don't recall who it was on.

As per the last comment, I'll just chalk that up to...well let's just say you are entitled to your opinion.
Great post.
If you would have actually read what I've been writing you would see that I agreeed that it was a foul, and a yellow card, but it shouldn't have been a straight red. he was unlucky.
which gerrard tackle are you talking about? I only remmeber the one where he stepped down on the guys foot and thought he was booked for that one?
My point was more that the arsenal player acted as if he was murdered, for a tackle that was late for sure, but not malicious. then he was back on the pitch as if nothing happened.
you seem to be insinutating that i am a biased liverpool supporter but if you had any clue and looked at many of my previous posts, you would see that its not the case. I'm the first to admit when players act disgracefull (see Torres dives) or are terrible players (see Lucas), so I'm not biased. I don't view thing through red colored glasses, and can admit when things are crap.

Cole had said that it was predetermined who takes the pen, and since Torres didn't come off the bench till half, thats probably why. it was already decided.

It was probably, as it's been mentioned, an attempt to build his confidence, but what a bad penalty

The only good thing about this, is that soccernet posted it. They are terrible and notorious for poor journalism and making up crap based on soccernet sources.

that being said, if there is any truth to this, I'd hate to see Kuyt leave. Hes frustrating sometimes, but he works so hard for the team. He's like a Nystrom, who scores more. One complaint about him is he goes down way too easy.

Coupled with his adamant stance to not give a pence of profit to H*cks and G*llett. How different it would all be if DIC were given the team in the first place over these disgraceful morons. Can the entire city of Liverpool ban them?

I really hope that was a negotiation tactic rather than a real withdrawal. I don't think I mind either group at the moment to be honest though.....to be QUITE honest in fact.

Far as Rafa, I don't mind if he takes Masch, as long as they pay close to that 30 million he was said to be valued at. Surely that's what he SHOULD get if he's the player he is.....minus the discipline issues, but I'd take it. Even though 20-22 would be tough, I think a reasonable replacement could be found for that. Someone perhaps less menacing on the field, but also more disciplined would be just fine.

Moratti has phoned Roy and said he won't be bidding on anyone right now. Rafa asked for Kuyt but was told by Moratti that he didn't think he was needed - but would put in a bid.

Mascherano is allegedly out of their price range.

I'm sure that at least one of them will be Inter property in the January window though.

Still no takeover development.

Word is that Roy was told that Ole Toivenen is not for sale in his quest for another striker, although if Torres is fit and Ngog and Babel are producing he might be alright for a bit, but Torres would have to play all EPL games and some Europa games and the rest could fill in spot duty for games already won and Carling cup. Not ideal, but it might be passable.

Of course Mancini is already pimping Balotelli as better than Torres.

ESPN reporting Mascherano is "on strike" and won't play against City. While I do believe that he won't play, I doubt he is on strike, rather in discussions to leave the club. barca put in a bid apparently, but it was 15 mill euros and 2 players (including Hleb) in return. We don't need those players, the money would be better spent elsewhere.

Yeah, its huge breaking news in some places, but the truth of the matter is that the reporter breaking it is a notorious fiction writer.

I have no doubt that Masch wont play, hes probably still injured. The rumoured Barca offer is a complete joke, £12-15M +2 Barca scraps. But they've got no choice, they're broke.

Apparently Roy's asking price starts at £26M and no players. I'd want to see £30M+.

Also, this 'strike' business is total bull, anyone that has seen how hes held himself the last month or so and how he played against Arsenal would think hes a better professional than all that.

I guess we get to see City's vaunted squad in action now. Theres been talk that because its such a mishmash of players that they'll be out of form, and I hope Liverpool can get a result out of them away from home.

Pundits are predicting a draw in some capacity with the edge to City. It's Milner's first game, and obviously no Masch or Cole, but I think the Reds can take them.

Ugly is a good word for it. Torres having a match to forget. Lots of people having forgetable performances.

I guess my feelings on that game are that Liverpool looked slow, and out of sorts. But to sum it up, caught in possession, over and over and over. They were just slow, they didnt pass quick enough, shoot quick enough, run quick enough, it was awful.

I think 3 times in the first half alone Torres wound up for a shot, but took so damned long the ball was blocked or taken away by the time he was ready. The midfield got owned all night.

That sucked, but what can you do against a team thats blown £300M in 2 years?

What the hell does Glen Johnson bring to a team? He was awful today. Looked totally confused and didn't even attempt to come off the post and make a play on that second goal.
