These idiots would have to buy a whole bunch of Qurans for this burnfest, which is only going to make Allah richer and more powerful and better able to kill God and take over the world.
Way to doom us all, ya big bunch of dinks.

Thanks for the link, HOZ, that was definitely a good read.

What pains me about society today is the fact that extremist organizations like Al Qaeda have brought such a bad name to Muslims, that even with good intentions, there are preconceptions about the religion itself. This just leads to more fuel for Al Qaeda when they recruit younger kids to carry out their deeds.

HOZ, I usually agree with your take on foreign affairs issues, but this pastor's neurons aren't firing correctly.
I'm not sure what he's is trying to accomplish. Yeah, it's America and Americans are free to burn books, but he should ask himself if he's helping or hurting Muslim-American relations in the long run. Furthermore, how is he painting members of his own religion?
There are legitimate criticisms of Islam, multiculturalism and radicalism that need to be addressed. Burning books to 'send a message' is a superficial and juvenile response to problems that badly need addressing.
As for the thread topic, I disagree with the OP as well. Although I know this thread is a response to a long and philosophical discussion of atheism, a correct summation of both threads would be that any extreme form of religion (yes, even atheism) are deconstructive and incompatible with a free society. Both suck.

I'll never understand the rampant anti-religious zealotry on this board.
Some people feel threatened by religion.
About equal to those religious people whose faith is so weak that they can't have a normal conversation with an atheist in fear that they might lose their belief.
