I think it started with a thread a while back about Christopher Hitchens being water boarded. People in the thread were all impressed he had it done because most of us didn't have a clue what water boarding exactly was, and it was in the news a lot recently at the time. We heard the title, water boarding, had a vauge idea, but that's it.
For whatever reason you thought everyone in the thread was impressed with the video and what Hitchens had done because you thought all of us, thought what he was doing was an impressive "macho manly" action. When in reality it was more of an educational eye opener for most, myself included.
You completely missed the point, and you got all moany about it. Even after several posters tried to explain what was going on you still got whiny.
...and it was annoying.

It doesn't. Hence the word "joke". While I may be hypocritical at points and get offended at some things, I try to be of the mind that when it comes to jokes nothing is off limits. Because once you make something off limits, you make other things sacred. And that just screws everything up.
