I have heard that but never actually tried one to test it out.
Personally, I won't be upgrading at all until Shaw comes out with more details about their network, hardware supported and data plans. I have told myself that unless I am in dire need of a phone that I cannot afford to buy outright, I will never sign a contract again. There are just too many advantages of being without one.

Judging by the amount of survey's I get asking if I would consider using Shaw once they provide wireless services I'd venture to say that they're going full-steam ahead with it.
Another big player is going to be great.

Has a lot more potential than a Torch, weighs only 8 grams more but has a bigger and better screen. I've played with overclocked Droids running at 1 ghz+ and those things are monsters.

3G launched today with Sasktel.. the Bold is now available but no Torch.
I am a big fan of touch screen.. tempted to go with the Storm 2 now.
How easy is CPuck to navigate on the Bold?

Updated the Android theme links above. There is now a weather slot on the basic version and the hidden today is not truly a hidden today...sorry for the confusion earlier.

Yes, another OS6 theme. Personally I think the OS6 icons are great. This uses all the OS6 icons from BlackBerry Theme Lab.
Also added a weather dock on the home screen that houses the app in the seventh position on your Bold, as well as the time, the Speedo battery icon also from Blackberry Theme Lab and notification icons on the dock as well.
OS6 Zen with Home Screen Weather Dock
OS6 Zen with Home Screen Weather Dock Hidden Today

It's been three years since I switched from the BB, but back then we didn't need to wait for carrier updates. We (or at least I) just downloaded the new versions straight from RIM. Unless things have changed, you might still be able to: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/devices/
Also, on a completely separate note... There's now an "express" version of BES. Definitely worth checking out. Blackberries always seemed kinda pointless to me in the past without a BES sync, although (admittedly) I have no clue if they've done anything decent with their desktop sync. All I know is free BES is a good thing. Especially for SMBs.
Anyway... http://na.blackberry.com/eng/service...ftware_landing
(Keep in mind it's a business thing. If you're a commercial user, it's probably not going to be for you - unless you plan on hosting your own Exchange backend.)

Just got to spend 2 minutes playing with a Torch. My opinion? It's crap.
Now, I am a new apple fan - got an iphone in May. Also have a BB Curve for work. The iphone has made the Curve look ancient when it comes to multimedia anything. However, the Curve is still a breeze to type on and emails are easy.
So the Torch. Well in my opinion, it is too big (granted I am coming from a Curve, which is smaller). The touch screen is slow, laggy, and not near as intuitive as it could be. When typing, the slide feature changes the weighting so the upper screen portion is more heavy (which is weird since it sticks up out of your hand). The resolution is a joke. The keyboard is no longer sweet - as they flattened the keys to make it slideable. Finally, there is a very high likelihood that the battery will be below average since the big screen uses too much.

Flames89, that doesn't surprise me. There really isn't much about the 9800 I think I would like personally. I really like my 9700 and will wait for the next device from RIM because I think the 9800 is just an "in-between" device.

So my boss just came in and told me she got me a BB Tour through the company and it will be here next week.
Whats the general opinion on that model?

I like the Tour, I currently have it right now. It is still using the Trackball though, and I would like to switch to a bold for the trackpad.
Not that many complaints about the Tour in my office. You'll need quickpull on it though.

Coming from a Curve it would be miles different. Getting used to typing on something with more top weight would take a few days at least to get used to.
The keyboard I think is the same as the 9700 Bold.
Screen is same size/resolution (maybe a bit better resolution, can't recall) as the Storm 1 and 2...and no battery issues there.
Don't know if its an in between device. The Storm 3 will likely be more heavily weighted to the Iphone/Android crowd.
I like it because after a year and a half of the Storm, somewhat looking forward to returning to a physical keyboard and the trackpad for quicker navigation...but used to such a large screen that I couldn't go down to a Bold.
But still tempted by Andriod and even Iphone. But then we're into the keyboard thing again and the keyboards on the Andriods are poorly regarded).

Sorry, I'm a few days behind, but I plan on buying one in a couple months when the price comes down and the bugs are gone.
If I was 14 and had never been laid then I would probably not get a Torch and go straight for the iPhone 4.

So because the iPhone 4 is a better device than the Torch, that means it is for virgin teenagers. Great logic there.
