I love the hostility. It keeps bringing me back for hours of entertainment. I just wish we had a angry thread icon so I can quickly find the hilarious threads. Sometimes they are obscure topics that I don't notice until the fun has subsided.

I don't find it any worse or better than in the past. I mean, it is what it is. CP is like any other chat forum on the internet. You get some people who will drop civility and courtesy because they're behind a computer screen.

To be honest, I'm actually quite impressed with CP in that it is probably one of the least elitist forums I've seen. I think the mods do a pretty good job facilitating discussion and making sure new people who join aren't ostracized right away if they are actually adding to the discussion.

And for the most part, I find many of the veteran posters to be friendly and knowledgable. I find most of the ribbing people do is more in jest and living up to their CP persona rather than having any malice behind it.

My suggestion is to not take people say personally or take it too seriously. If you have big problem with a certain poster, there's always the ignore function.

Kind of late I know, but please consider things before posting personal information about people that has been sent via PM in a thread.. while it might be appropriate in some cases, it's not always so. If nothing else the individual sending the PM may not have intended the information to be public, or indexed by search engines.

Thanks.

I'm not going to lie: I was pondering the question of whether the "CP Hostility Thread" should be closed due to too much hostility.

Well, it's not the CP "Let's group hug" thread, now is it?

That thread will never happen due to some CP members propensity to be pantsless.

OT's everywhere on the internet, are like sticking a bunch of monkeys in a room. There's going to be personality conflicts, flare ups, fights, some monkeys trying to act dominant, etc. CP is no different from any other OT I've been to, actually it's pretty tame.

No kidding. C'mon Habernac. You might think that kind of language is funny, but there are kids that read this site! If you allow them to read such language, it will start them on a downward spiral that ends in a BPs in Edmonton!

For shame

I should probably proof-read anything that mentions grammar nazis. Consider it fixed.

Its a sad state of affairs when today's youth resort to turning tricks for sub-par pizza and bland pasta.

CP might talk about itself as a collective and analyze and debate the merits of its posts, threads, posters, general trends and overall mood more than any other forum I've ever been to.

It's almost like CP is an organism unto itself and we are afraid that it'll become self aware and hate us all for all the crappy posts we make into its collective.

Well, if the robot apocalypse happens to be fueled exclusively by CP, I for one think the human race is totally boned.

And its too late, we've already welcomed our CP robot apocalypse overlords, we just dont know it yet...
