I also love the new Arcade Fire. Their best album yet IMO. Can't wait for the concert, definitely one of my favourite bands right now.

I have 18 of those.
They got points for including The Stone Roses in there, but U2 number one? Really? Ugh.

Is there a dislike button here? Love their stuff, I was very sad when they broke up.

the reunion couldn't have come at a better time for Ben Shepherd:

Anyone listen to the new Black Label Society and Iron Maiden releases yet?

A lot of their music is great, and a lot of it is annoying generic noise, IMO.

I don't agree, but let's just say they were. You can still put this unreleased track up against most of what passes for modern alt/hard rock on the radio today, and its way more interesting and has another dimension of creativity to it. I mean surely soundgarden is a better mainstream rock act than Nickelback and all their clones. You listen to this song and its got something distinct going on, it catches your ear in a completely different way.

Hard rock has generally been run into the ground and turned into a joke since bands like Soundgarden went away.

Did you think Spoonman was a good song? I thought it was embarrassing. One of the worst songs ever.

One of their worst songs ever, sure. One of the worst songs ever? I've heard a lot worse.

Okay, just making sure you're grounded in reality. Super Duper Fans defend that song.

Not mainstream at all, but the new Jamey Johnson album is coming out September 14.

I would say the Jamey Johnson/Zac Brown types are as mainstream as it gets. "In Color" and "High Cost of living" for that matter were written for the mainstream. Don't let the scruffy appearances fool you.....Kinda like how Bruce Springsteen started out and wasn't thought of as mainstream....just a different syle/take/stab at mainstream. About as good as country music gets though and it is mainstream because I know that and I don't really listen to very much country music....

Iron Maiden's Bar Tab:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/0..._n_688251.html

When Iron Maiden walked into Finnegan's Pub in Norway and asked for 27 Slippery Nipples, the bartender did not disappoint. Then they asked for 78 pints of Guiness, 13 Jack Daniels shots, 29 glass "husets" and something else called an "Ossian Ale," among other things. A normal person would call this an epic night out, and an expensive one at that -- the total on the bottom of the receipt equals roughly $3,250 USD. But we have an idea of what Iron Maiden would call it: Tuesday.

Now that's a band.

I just finished listening to their new album: The Final Frontier, and I'd give it a 2.5/5. It is on par with A Matter of Life and Death, but it is no where near the classics like Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind, Powerslave.

Sort of disappointed, but my expectations were low anyway so I am not that disappointed.
