Have any of you gooners bought the new shirts? Are they as tight as last years away and third? I bought size Large last year and they feel like a scuba wetsuit, thank goodness I don't have the beer gut.

Manchester City goalkeeper Shay Given has revealed he is not prepared to play second fiddle to Joe Hart and would rather go out on loan than sit on the bench.

Given, 34, has been told by coach Roberto Mancini that a decision has not yet been made on who will start this weekend's Premier League opener away to Tottenham Hotspur. But if Hart, likely to start England's friendly with Hungary on Wednesday, get the nod then Given will have to consider his future.

The goalkeeper has admitted he would be willing to leave the club on loan if he is not first choice.

"We will have to wait until lunchtime on Saturday when the manager picks the team to see who starts in goal,'' said Given, who has been linked with Arsenal and Fulham. "Obviously I hope to start, but it's inevitable there is going to be speculation because I know Joe is also a top 'keeper.

Although I was rather frustrated with Flapianski this weekend, after looking at the result more closely I also feel that the defense needs to carry a good portion of the blame as the other team did score 5 goals; two of which were on a better keeper. As much as I like the German duo we are being linked with, players like Mexes or Chiellini would add both talent and experience. The talent is needed to fix the hole in our back 4 but the experience is needed to get the other three defenders working well and together.

Werder Bremen defender Per Mertesacker insists he has no intention of leaving the club amid reported interest from Arsenal.

Germany international Mertesacker, 25, has been frequently linked with a move to Emirates Stadium this summer as Arsene Wenger looks to shore up his defence ahead of the new season.

However, Mertesacker insists there has never been an approach from another club and says he has no intention of moving on.

Hey, I'm going to be in London on September 11th when they play Bolton. Does anyone know the best way to try and get tickets for the game? I've never seen a soccer game before so I really think it would be a great opportunity to try and see a game. How hard is it to get tickets?

Pepe Reina's last-minute own goal handed Arsenal a dramatic draw at Liverpool in their Premier League opener on Sunday.

For the majority of the afternoon, it seemed this game would be decided by events either side of half time. Just before the whistle, Joe Cole was dismissed for scything down Laurent Koscielny near the corner flag. Just after the restart, David Ngog scored with a rasping drive at the near post.

Arsenal huffed and puffed in the second half but, thanks to a couple of incredible saves from Reina, their search for the equaliser seemed fruitless. However in the dying seconds, Marouane Chamakh beat the keeper to a left-wing cross and the ball ricocheted back off the Spaniard before creeping into the net.

The two easiest ways would be: i) become a red member; and ii) contact one of the touristy group companies that get and sell tickets.

Well I am left disappointed after that match, with man advantage we couldn't muster any real threat until the 89th minute? I love possession football but thanks Reina for the gift.

None of our midfielders were able to assume Fab's role of directing our attack. Fortunately, Pepe assumed the role of Fabianski...

I thought Arsenal carried the play for most of the match. Liverpool handled the pressure well, especially after Agger went off. I was happy with the draw in the end, but at the same time, disappointed that it even got to that point.

No real embarrassment from the new players, nothing spectacular either.

Arsenal were crap after the goal, generated zilch until Reina gagged. Liked Koscielny, Arshavin was awful, why Wenger likes Diaby is beyond me. Still to gut Liverpool is enjoyable, despite the poor performance.

I thought Rosicky looked awesome when he came on. He really needs to play more in my opinion. The game is an excellent play maker and he almost scored a pretty goal prior to his great curling ball that got them the goal.

Goaltending still scares me, wish we would have addressed that. Can't wait to see cesc back though.

Thing is, can he do this: a) for most of the games we'll give him; and b) for many games without succumbing to injury?

Although I much prefer Given over Schwarzer, I think the latter is Emirates bound. I could complain about us missing out on Given but then I simply have to look at our alternatives...

I think that is the reason why he doesn't play more because they are worried he will get injured because he's not built very solid. Tough to say how much he will play.

Fulham have rejected a second bid from Arsenal for their Australian goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, according to reports.

Arsenal have publicly expressed an interest in signing Schwarzer this summer and the goalkeeper has gone as far as submitting a transfer request at Craven Cottage.

However, Mark Hughes is reluctant to sell Schwarzer, 37, and it has emerged that Arsenal have seen a second offer of £2 million for the goalkeeper turned down by their London counterparts.

Shockingly, Arsene Wenger has been linked with a French player, Sebastien Squillaci . The Arsenal boss views Sevilla's stopper as the ideal man to bolster his beleaguered back line, having lost the likes of Gallas, Campbell and Senderos over the Summer.

Squillaci has played for some of the biggest clubs across Europe, competing at the highest level, but he's hardly a household name, so here's MirrorFootball's Chris Bloor to fill in the blanks.
