BPA is also used as a liner for pop cans....

It causes cancer and infertility.

BPA is also used in canned foods like spaghetti sauce, if my memory serves.

I did some quick calculations - the average BPA concentration reported in urine corresponds to an intake about 1000 times lower than what Health Canada considers to be a "safe" dose (which is also what the chemical industry associations are saying). My calculations were fairly simplified, and there is some uncertainty about what really is a safe amount, but it's not as bad as the media spin.
