oh please.
he went down like he broke something, call the stretcher, only to come back on and act as if nothing happened. arsenal must have amazing trainers that can cure such a severe injury in 15 mins.
as for cole, he went for the ball, missed, right leg into him. yellow for sure, but no way thats a straight red
and gerrard sent off? you're more dillusional than Jon Champion was. Rosickys yellow was more severe than anything gerrard did
Can't say I blame you though, with the crap performance Arsenal put on, I'd be stretching to find a positive from that too

Wow, have you ever suffered a hard mis-timed tackle?

It wasn't the severity of the foul for which is was cautioned but rather committing two clearly cautionable fouls.

Nice driveby to deflect the blame.
It was a crap challenge. Harsh red, certainly, but what the hell is Cole even trying to do there? Totally pointless and easily could have resulted in a broken leg or ankle, thankfully it didn't. I'm surprised Liverpool aren't appealing.

Mascherano debacle continues, but I have to say, huge respect to Roy and Masch for the professional manner in which they're handling this. I dont want to bash Rafa, but I always got the impression that he was a little too hot headed with transfers. The whole Gareth Barry/Alonso debacle comes to mind.
Quote:
''We haven't had an offer for him. We want an offer that meets what we think is his value, and Javier is perfectly happy with this,'' Hodgson said.
''He doesn't expect the club to just let him walk out of here. He hopes that a club comes in where he could be reunited with his family, which is the major problem for him, that offers us what he is worth and we accept that.
''But he has also made it clear that he doesn't regard it as a hardship to play for Liverpool Football Club. In fact, it's the reverse. It's because of family matters that he wants to go.
''He is resigned to one of two possibilities - either a club doesn't come along and offer us his valuation, in which case he stays, or we have an offer that meets his valuation, in which case he may go.''

Also, the Home leg of the Europa League game against the unpronouncable Turkish side Trapsomethingorother is today. No word on lineup yet, or if Masch will be played and potentially cup-tied.

I'm sorry, but this post had me laughing quite a bit. Now I know one fan does not make a whole fan base, but wow.
Joe Cole, while he did not go in with any harsh intent, made a clumsy flail for the ball and missed. Irresponsible tackle from the get go, and could have cause a pretty vicious injury, thankfully it didn't. Yellow card would have been fully deserved, a bit harsh with the red card, but I'm happy those kinds of borderline calls are finally being made.
Gerrard should have been booked for his tackle early in the game, don't recall who it was on.
As per the last comment, I'll just chalk that up to...well let's just say you are entitled to your opinion.

I'm worried. This is a pretty weak squad. If you're not going to play Stevie, fine, PLAY AQUILANI THEN!
Jesus, when does Aquilani EVER play? My god. What a terrible waste of the Alonso money.
At least Joe is playing and Poulson is getting his feet wet, but when you're relying on Babel as your striker to get goals you've got worries. Hopefully Jova will pot one or two.
My biggest worry is allowing an away goal.

Could have been an attempt to boost his confidence. I am saying this without knowing the context of the situation though.

I do not know. It was a pretty poor penalty too.

Oh...Aurelio's free kicks have been lethal in this game. How that stayed out....

Weak disallowed goal. Very, very weak. Even the commentators are calling that fair. Keeper never had it in his hands.
Fly on you Greek God!

ya the Cole pen was just terrible, you would think Hodgson would have seen that in practice which is why I asked
and ya that disallowed goal was one of the worst I have seen in awhile

Could have easily have been 3 or 4, but Trab had their chances as well, not the greatest game, but it was a pretty soft side as well.
I'll take it.

I think it was offside. Bad call though, still no real clarification, so I could be wrong.
Well...apparently Roy didn't play Aquilani because he wants to loan him out for the year. Which sucks because that's effectively the door for him, as this is to raise his value up.
The ownership situation almost was sorted last week. Last Friday supposedly there was a deal ready to go with Huang, with the statement ready, this was at 9PM British time so it legit, but according to Tony Evans of the Times, something happened. About 2 or 3 hours after the promised statement a very vague message that stayed the course(we are reviewing offers-we want the best bid for LFC not the yanks). All speculation of course, but it makes sense.
The latest is that Huang has imposed an ultimatum for his bid to be accepted. According to what you read it was today, or it's expiring shortly. He wants to own the club now to buy players, if not he will sit until January which may be to late as the season could be down the drain by then with the big names gone(Torres for instance according to Evans will definitely leave - he only agreed to stay because of the possible new investment) and that could start a domino affect of people leaving.
Sorry for the cluttered post.
