I have to admit, I am in the camp that is pro-Australia approach. Turn that boat around.

Maybe this is what Stockwell was talking about, and we were just mis-understanding

If they just had some patience, the Indian sub-continent will push it's way past the north pole and eventually reach Canada.

RCMP, navy vessels head for Tamil migrant ship

A flotilla of 10 vessels, including RCMP craft and a navy ship, have left the B.C. coast headed for a Thai cargo ship believed to be carrying several hundred Tamil migrants.
The MV Sun Sea entered Canada's exclusive economic zone — which extends 200 nautical miles, or about 370 kilometres — on Wednesday.
The cargo ship is thought to be carrying between 200 and 500 Tamil migrants from Sri Lanka.
It is not clear when the ship might arrive inside Canadian territorial waters — which extend about 12 nautical miles (22 km) off the coast — but officials had said the vessel would arrive by early Friday at the latest.

I think that is sufficiently bad-ass for me to be satisfied. When is the last time Canada dispatched a flotilla for anything?

I work at Victoria General Hospital. Yesterday we ran around preparing to take on the refugees from the first ship for medical evaluation. I'm not sure how I feel about this. Possible terrorists in the same hospital and on the same dime as the tax paying public.

The hospital just built a new E.R. so the old E.R. is sitting empty. That is where they will be triaged. Maintenance was told to remove anything from the walls that could be used as a weapon.(there were still brackets from shelves and such on the walls.)

The seventh floor in the north tower also sits empty because of budget cuts. They will house any refugees(terrorists) there that need in-patient care.

Uh did you read the whole article? Flotilla or not they are already setting up a tent city in Victoria and telling the hospitals to be ready to treat many sick patients.

That sure doesn't sound like we are going to turn them around or anything with our big badass flotilla.

The RCMP did the same type of thing when there was another similar ship a few years ago...

we should arrange for a "iceberg" to show up in the path of the ship.

You can track the ship and others near it on this site:

http://www.digital-seas.com/fleet_tr...n_the_web.html

Look for the vessel MV Harin Panich 19. Just off the west coast of Vancouver Island right now.

We can't turn them around. 3 months at sea they are probably low on supplies and possibly very sick. Its one thing for Australia which is a heck of a lot closer to turn them around, but if we did I think we'd sign a few death warrants.

Not our problem, they should have brought enough supplies for a round trip instead of trying to abuse our country.

Its complete BS that they will let them dock, send them to Venezuela, I am sure Hugo would love to have some more converts.

This whole situation is turning my stomach, and I'm finding it difficult to have any sympathy for these people. They're essentially jumping the cue on everything from legitimate refugee and immigration claims to taxing an already taxed health care system that barely supports true blue (red?) Canadian citizens.

We as taxpayers are going to be on the hook for all associated costs in "integrating" them into Canada. Canada has a reputation of being a friendly, and caring nation, but it's increasingly difficult for regular people - like you and I - to fund Canada's "bleeding heart" mentality.

My family waited two years in a refugee camp before being allowed into Canada. Crap, we should've just jumped on a boat....

Conflicting reports saying the ship was/was not boarded by the military. I wonder what happened. First reports say it was boarded.
