Cars aren't designed to kill things.

Setting aside the fact that one of the seized weapons is illegal for civilian possession in Canada, there is no need to smuggle firearms for the lawful purposes you describe.

And did you just compare selling a gun to selling a car? Are you really that stupid?

NEWS FLASH: Guns are made for shooting people. Cars are not.
I own several guns and use them plenty.

Guess what? I have never shot or killed anyone with them...

Are you a defense lawyer by chance?

People with gun collections, target shooters, hunters, etc all have 1 thing in common. They are all (or at least the great majority) law abiding citizens who legally purchase and register their firearms. For those with restricted weapons, they also get the Authorization To Transport from the CFO.

People who smuggle guns like this have one purpose, and that is to distribute them to people who can not otherwise (or don't want to) acquire a firearm. These are the people who use them to commit crimes.

Again, good job to the border boys and gals. This is exactly the type of news the Canadian public wants to see coming from the CBSA. The Canadian public does not care so much about the 45 year old going through a midlife crisis who underdeclared the value of his US purchased Corvette so he could save some tax money.

Since those guns aren't exceedingly rare or unique, I doubt that they're going to a collector, or a target shooter.

I doubt a collector or target shooter is going to be willing to pay enough money to a smuggler to risk a long prison term by bringing those weapons across the border.

But do you know who would pay a lot of money for those guns. People who desperately want fully automatic weapons, which to me would be gang members and drug dealers.

Are they in your survivalist compound hidden up near Northern Canada out of the reach of the New World Order?

You know if the UN black ops world government security forces come after you, you're probably outgunned and out numbered.

If you own thousands of dollars in rare guns like these, I'd hope you could invest the $200 for a decent weapons safe.

You would think so wouldn't you?

None the less on 2 occasions when I was house hunting a few years ago we wandered into bedrooms with, in one case two shotguns a rifle, a really nice winchester and an automatic pistol (looked like a 1911) in the closet.

I wonder if this information is connected to the recent drug busts.

I am under the impression that those weapons are not automatics, as per your posts on the first page...but I see what you're saying..

I just think that it would be a little funner around here if a guy could use a cool gun like that, for recreational/sport purposes of course...

If you want cool guns, shoot black powder.

I don't think that its any great challenge using a sited semi auto rifle for target shooting or hunting.

I have a great deal of respect for someone that can shoot accurately with a bolt action rifle with iron sites.
