Might as well experiment. The gap between Overbay and anyone else defensively is too big.
Jays taking it to the Yankees again!

Hopefully Snyder can keep hitting a bit here as he gets back into the lineup. He was going along really well in his 10 games before that wrist injury took him out. I see he's now got his slugging percentage back over .500.
Despite having a terible year offensively, Aaron Hill is still pacing out to hit like 25 home runs (granted his recent streak helps that out). With the recent streak he'd be only one short of the old team record of 17 for a second baseman that he shared with Alomar before last year. So I would determine that the power from last year wasn't a total fluke and that you probably can expect him to hit 25 home runs most years in his prime.
Looks like they might start having the makings of a good hitting lineup coming into place. Now they need the starting arms to stay healthy and to build up some system depth in the bullpen.
I think the Yankees may live to regret not being willing to make the move to get Downs and opting for Kerry Wood instead. He's had nothing all year.

I was kind of hoping they'd just go with the same lineup as last night. Snider leading off?
Here's hoping they can take another one from the Yanks.

Apparently Snider's first AB in the leadoff position since he was 11 years old. Giving Lewis and Escobar the day off, otherwise Escobar would have led off.
It will be interesting to see how they fare with the regular 1-2 hitters sitting out on the same day.

Cool Snyder gets to lead off, gets him one more AB every game and makes him a bit more patient at the plate.

I'm not usually one to this but.... why do so many people spell Snider with a "y"? I see it on many Blue Jays boards as well.

Snyder is a veteran MLB catcher, so I guess it's the "default" spelling.

Yeah not really directed at you at all, just that i've seen it a lot and was curious if there was some sort of reason for this.
Gozer may have answered why.
anyway, was hoping A-Rod wouldn't hit #600 against the Jays, but i'm glad he finally hit it.

In today's game John Buck was hit in the hand by a foul tip and I guess he was forced to leave the game (heard its a cut on his hand).
Its speculated he was placed on the 15 game DL.

Lind being a 1B isn't much of an experiment. He was a 1B in college, and moved to the outfield in the minors because they didn't think he'd have the power profile for a 1B. Since he does have the power profile for a 1B, there's no reason for him to not be there, especially considering the lack of 1B in our system and the fact that we have 3 outfielders who, for whatever reason, are being held back in AA that are posting stellar numbers.

Another bump of the prospect signings, because LHP Mitchell Taylor, has signed. I also added the likelyness of the other prospects taken in the top 20 rounds by the Aug. 15 deadline from what I've heard elsewhere. Who knows though.
RHP
1st - Deck McGuire - Probably will sign the night before the deadline
2nd - Justin Nicolino - Likely
4th - Sam Dyson - Possible
10th - Tyler Shreve - Doubtful
17th - Myles Jaye - Doubtful
21st - Chris Marlowe
25th - Brando Tessar
28th - Adaric Kelly
31st - Luis Benitez
36th - David Whitehead
37th - Chad Green
39th - Nick Vander Tuig
46th - Connor Smith
47th - Gabriel Romero
LHP
7th - Mitchell Taylor - Signed
8th - Logan Ehlers - Possible
13th - Tyler Painton - Extremely doubtful
15th - Zak Adams - Doubtful
43rd - Ronald Schreurs
Catchers
27th - Eric Arce
48th - Nick Studer
50th - Kelly Norris-Jones
2nd Base
44th - Mott Hyde
Short Stop
9th - Brandon Mims - Possible
3rd Base
18th - Kris Bryant - Possible but unlikely
