You're probably right. Any chance of NOT waiting 4 hours, or is 3-4 hours the standard wait time down there? I hear the non-carrier line is shorter, but I'm looking to upgrade, not pay the full price.

When I went on Monday, it was a 90 minute wait in line and then the actual upgrade itself was very quick.
I think a lot of the people who decided to wait a week before lining up are now finding out that the only place to go is the Apple store, which is making the lineups longer. I'd just go their early in the morning. Nothing too crazy, just a half hour before they open or something.

If you want to make adjustments to your plan or do some wheeling and dealing can this be done at the Apple store or do you have to go Rogers? The only reason I would go to Rogers is because I want to adjust some things on my plan and renew some discounts that are expiring next year.

There's a Best Buy in town that got 27 units on launch day. 3 were Bell, 1 was Rogers/Fido (depending on which card it was activated with) and the rest were Telus.
I remember thinking that was pretty stupid, since Telus was the only company who still hadn't released their iPhone plans, and they were the only company not offering early upgrades...

Anyone ordered/received the free case from Apple yet?
Curious if it will actually take 4-6 weeks

They won't do that at the Rogers store either. All they can do there is give you different advertised plans. What you want to do is call Rogers (611 from your Rogers phone) and talk to them there.
You have to do it before you upgrade though. If you upgrade and sign a new 3 year deal before haggling with them on the phone, you'll have nothing to bargain with.

I ordered the free bumper case on Monday, it said 2-3 weeks at the time.
Edit: I just checked the order status for it, and now it says "Ships Aug 30th, Delivers Sept 7th." Doh. I'm not even going to use it anyway. I just ordered it because it was free. I'll probably give it to a friend.
Edit: Even though I'm not really a case guy... if I were to get one, it would be one of these http://www.elementcase.com/iphone4.html. In fact, I probably will get one just because they look awesome. I'll wait for the yellow one though.

You've all been waiting patiently, and now the new "Vapor" Case for the iPhone 4 is on its way.
First of all, the Vapor's ergonomic shape is very sleek, light, and of course, beautiful. That's really all you need to know, but here's more:
Despite it's minimalist appearance, the Vapor is CNC machined from a solid block of aircraft grade aluminum. In
other words, it's strong and light(25 grams)!
A CNC on/off button is designed into the case to complete the clean lines.
Next, the finish of the Vapor case is anodized to create a hard protective coating in brilliant colors. Yes, black is a
color. We love anodized black.
In true ElementCase style, the graphics are laser engraved. A "custom" option will be available soon.
The inside of the Vapor case is lined with a very high tech shock absorbing material that reduces the G-forces of an impact. It also creates
a non-conductive barrier to help maintain the iPhone's antenna signal strength.

Mmmm.

I need to keep the phone as small as possible, so that with Invisasheild would be perfect.

Yeah, I actually called them this week and they wouldn't let me change my plan or anything because they don't sell the phones over the phone. I guess once they get stock they will.

I lined up at 8:30am today (at Market Mall Apple Store) and it was just crazy, we ended up leaving between 3-4pm. They closed the line around ~12pm because they completely sold out of all iphones.
There will be no stock of iphones until *at least* Monday from what I was told (by several store employees), in case anyone is going tomorrow.
As for the phone...it is amazing. Best phone I have ever owned

Meh. It's a $200 dollar item with contract. Case madness drives me nuts.
I'll take the free one from Apple but I wasn't really planning on using one. Got one with my iPod Touch and took it off after 6 months.

Rogers is saying they will have iPhone 4s in stores tomorrow (Saturday).
The Vapor cases look nice. I like iSkin cases myself. Have a couple Solos for my 3GS, but the colors for the iPhone 4 look nice too.
http://www.iphoneincanada.ca/iphone-...-limited-time/
Plus you can get a coupon to get 50% off one (or two or three?) of the Solo ones.

Just got mine via UPS from Fido. Sweet Christ this thing is fast!
At home I can't get the reception bars to drop no matter how I grip it. At work I can make it drop from 3 bars to 1. Can't make a call drop.

This case looks cool but takes away all of your service. I went from 5 bars to 3 the moment I put it on and my speed test was 1880kbps download and 837 kbps upload with out the case. With the case is 976 kbps download and 86 kbps upload. Save your money.
|
That would suck to shell out that kind of money for a case, only to have it impair one of the problems they are claiming to fix. Who knows if the comment is accurate?
I think I will stick with the Invisishield solution when I get one.
