Default Would you rent your house to these people?

Saw this ad on Kijiji-Calgary and I thought.... good luck in finding a place.

We are 2 couples with 4 dogs, (great dane , bullmastiff, black lab, golden retriever) Fully house trained!! and crate trained when we are not home. We are looking for a whole house to rent. We all have good jobs. Looking to pay in the 1000-1300 rent limit. 2 or more bedrooms. Preferably fenced in back yard. (but we have a dog run as well) . Both males are in the construction field as if house need repairs willing to help out.(roof,drywall, etc) We are responsible, quite bunch of people who you are looking for to rent your house!

I know some landlords will rent to tenants with pets.... but renting to two couples that have 4 large breed dogs? (the bull mastiff and great dane are obviously still puppies and will grow much larger)
I suspect the house will be fairly small if they have a $1300 rent limit..... hmmm... 4 adults and 4 large dogs all in one small house... What will the place look like after they move out?

Not a chance, even outside, 4 dogs would likely disturb the neighborhood and surely destroy the lawn.

Potluck has a few houses he rents ? I wonder what he would do.

I would consider renting to them. I have always had dogs so I know what they can be like. I would have to meet the people where they are currently living and see what the place looks like.

I would rather rent to people who take care of their animals then people with no pets who don't take care of anything.

After meeting with them I would decide based on that.

I would just take a refundable pet deposit for whatever I think it will cost to fix the place if they wreck it. I don't know if landlords are in a position to dictate all of the terms they want with the housing market the way it is.

On the other hand, these couples should look at buying a place. They would probably end up saving themselves a bit of money every month, and also save themselves from the hassle of a landlord vs. dog war.

I would write into the lease agreement that they are responsible for any and all damages related to the dogs, as well as the cost of any bylaw visit. Also, I reserve the right to evict them on 30 days notice if the Neighbours are unhappy.

They can decide if that is ok or not.

Isn't there a limit on how much you can ask for in a damage deposit? 4 dogs can do a lot of damage.... torn carpet, scratched doors, holes in the backyard, dead grass as a result of urine, etc.... not counting the wear and tear 4 adults would put on a place.

If you ask me the dogs arent the weird part. The weird part is that these 4 people are willing to go to all this trouble to live together, this is either an seguay into a 'Full House' remake or some sort of swingers gang-bang-o-rama.

Roofers? With dogs? Not a chance. They will destroy the house and disappear in the middle of the night.

As a landlord, I generally ignore any tenancy applications which contain grammatical errors and spelling mistakes. Cute dogs though!!!

4 adults who have "good paying job" and their rent limit is 1000-1300? I am just one adult in a moderately paying job and I pay more than that.

Absolutely not. I'd never rent a house to someone who uses "quite" instead of "quiet."

Just on the basis of the dogs alone as I can't judge the people with no info on them.

I would rent to them as long as I don't have original hardwood floors and of course a deposit.

I'm a bias big dog owner though. The Great Dane would be the least worry out of them all as they are a very calm animal and believe it or not make a good apartment dog. They are too large for their hearts and need to stay calm.
