Tavaris Jackson has a 77.9 rating career...21 TD's...18 INT's....those are Tim Couch like numbers.
Sage Rosenfels has a 81.2 rating career...30 Td's....29 INT's....those are Tim Couch like numbers.
Favre makes that team at LEAST 6 wins better....and no its not by himself, its like he has always done...he makes the players around him better. Its the reason why he owns every conceivable QB record imaginable that matters....other than SB wins.

Six games? Really? I don't buy it.
Sure, historically both Jackson and Rosenfels has stunk it up, but how much do you think they picked up anything from Favre last year? Do you not think a year of sitting there watching him do his thing has made them any better.
I think the difference between Favre and Jackson is 3 maybe 4 games, AT MOST. The stats won't be there for many of the players, but they will still win the games.

Thanks guys for answering my NFC question. It brought forth some good talks/debates!
Now for the AFC.
Who do you think is the favorite there? Is it the defending AFC champions, the Colts? You can never look past teams like San Diego or New England who have had strong rosters in the past. A lot of people have said that the Ravens and NY Jets will be a huge forces to be reckoned with this upcoming season. I've also heard a lot of talk about the Bengals with their new weapons being a strong contender. Some other good teams as well. What do you think?

I think the Colts are definitely the favourites in AFC, but you can never overlook the Patriots as they have a strong squad. I think that the Ravens will run away with the AFC North, the Patriots will win the AFC East, the Colts will win the AFC South, and the AFC West will be a $#!t show with either the Chargers or Broncos emerging as champions. I would lean towards the Chargers as long as they can get all these contract holdouts resolved. The 2 wild card spots will go to 2 of the Titans, Jets, Dolphins, Steelers, Texans, and Bengals. I think that the Jets will choke this year, imo they will not be able to live up to expectations, and Sanchez will suffer from a sophamore slump.

I agree with most of that. I am interested to see what Houston does. Every year people say "this is the year they get over the hump" but they never seem to do it.
Baltimore to run away (like 3+ games?). I think they could win the division for sure but Cincinnati will only be a game or so behind. I think both those teams will get in the playoffs.
Indy, San Diego, Baltimore, New England, NY Jets, Cincinnati are the teams I think will get in the playoffs. Miami, Tennessee, Denver, and Pittsburgh (although with Ben out for the first bit it may be tough) have a shot as well.

I agree but Houston has a pretty good team and if they didn't have that nightmare of a schedule people would be putting them as almost locks for wildcard spots. But to be fair to Houston this is the first year where they have a legitimate QB in Schuab who tore it up last year.
Yeah Baltimore, New England, and Indianapolis are the top 3 teams in the AFC by far imo. Cincinnati will be an interesting team to watch, thats for sure. Either they will implode with that many personalities on one team or they will all get their acts together and be a contender. Also depends on how Palmer plays. The Steelers will also be quite interesting to watch, seeing how they will preserver without Big Ben. He is an idiot off the field when will he learn that just because he's a star QB that he's not invincible. The AFC North will be a great divison this year thats for sure.
I think it will most likely be Indianapolis and New England with byes, Baltimore and San Diego with the other divison wins, and New York and Pittsburgh/Tennessee in the wildcards.

You may be right...and i may be overrating what favre meant to that team last year.
It just seemed like a very different club than the previous season when he arrived. Maybe it was a combination of things as much as one guy, but i have never seen a Childress team look that good before especially on offense. They were almost 100 points better than the year previous. Not a coincidence.
Of course both Harvin and Rice had something to do with that, but they still needed someone to get them the ball as well....and Rice was an epiphany as soon as Favre was throwing him balls from previous QB's.
I know the Vikes have a ton of talent, but not at the most important spot on the field. Take away not just Favres abilities but his leadership, and i think its a massive void for that team that simply cant just be plugged by a guy like Jackson or Rosenfels.
I may be wrong or maybe just some wishful thinking...but I know I am waiting til Favre decides what he is doing with regards to fantasy football stuff and Viking players.
EDIT: So i go and write all that stuff and then stumble across this...which shows I am likely quite wrong in my anaysis and Pagal nailed it.
We’ve tapped into a number of statistical services in recent years, and two of them are offering us interesting takes on the impact of quarterback Brett Favre's career decision on the Minnesota Vikings. I’m not coming off my take that Favre will eventually return to Minnesota, but these numbers help explain exactly why there was so much hubbub about his plans.
AccuScore, which uses digital profiles of players and coaches to run 10,000 simulated seasons at a time, gives the Vikings a 91 percent chance of making the playoffs if Favre is their quarterback in 2010. Without him, they put the Vikings’ playoffs chances at 53 percent. See the chart below:
The biggest statistical reason for the slip is erstwhile starter Tarvaris Jackson’s relatively low career completion percentage of 58.7 AccuScore projects Jackson’s 16-game completion percentage in 2010 at 56.6.
Bill Barnwell of Football Outsiders took on a similar task as part of an ESPN Insider column. You’ll need a subscription to read all of what Barnwell wrote, but I can tell you he projects Jackson with a 60.9 completion percentage.

been a bit of a rough TC for the Jets thus far...
New York Jets backup quarterback Erik Ainge has entered a facility to be treated for substance abuse, a source with knowledge of the situation told ESPNNewYork.com on Wednesday.

Ryan said they were going to carry only 3 qbs anyways. This makes the decision for them. Good luck to Ainge on conquering his demons.

Elvis Dumervil left Broncos practice with what the team is calling a "pectoral" injury. Hopefully it's not a torn pectoral, as that will put him out for the season.

Ouch. Well, Moreno's hamstring wasn't a tear. Maybe will get lucky with Doom too.

The results are in on Elvis Dumervil's injury, and the news is bad.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Dumervil suffered a torn pectoral muscle during Wednesday's practice.
A torn pectoral muscle is usually a season-ending injury. Schefter reports that Dumervil is expected to miss about four months, which means he might be able to return for the final few weeks of the regular season.
The injury comes just a month after Dumervil signed a new contract that guarantees him $43 million.

The Ravens have worked out 4 DB's this morning at McDaniel College. None are expected to be noteworthy players. The only confirmed one was Chris Hawkins a CB outta of LSU.

Awful. Denver's only proven pass rusher.

If the Ravens can survive in the secondary than they have a shot at being the top team in the AFC. The Colts as always will be there. New England seemed to have a pretty good draft, but their defence was getting exposed a lot last year. Pittsburgh will need to get through that 6 game stretch without Roethlisberger, if they do that I can see them getting on a roll and being the AFC team in the Superbowl.
I don't think there is a lot to chose between the likes of Miami, New York Jets, Houston Texans, Cincinatti, and San Diego. If Vincent Jackson doesn't play the first 10 games out it could impact the Chargers a fair bit. If they didn't get to destroy the rest of that awful Division they wouldn't be a playoff team.
I think the AFC has lost ground and is now the weaker of the two Conferences. The Colts and Ravens should be pretty good but after that it's a lot of parity in my eyes, and probably what will be the three of the worst teams in Football in Kansas City, Oakland, and Denver.

Buffalo, Cleveland, Detroit, Tampa, St. Louis and even Seattle beg for consideration.

I think Detroit and Cleveland are both going to be better. I actually think Oakland and KC are a lot better too. In my opinion the worst teams in the AFC this year will be the Bronco's and Bills. I did forget about them though...thats how bad they will be. I also think Jacksonville is really going to get trampled in the AFC South this year, and I forgot to put Tennessee in the mix of could be playoff teams.
But no doubt the Rams will be making the number one pick again next year.

The 29-year-old Johnson had five years left on a deal worth $60 million, but wanted to renegotiate. Texans general manager Rick Smith would not immediately release terms of the new contract, which amounts to a two-year extension.
