Doesn't look like too many teams will have room for Pickett even though he is probably a better option than guys like Lulay in BC who looks brutal, Dinwiddie in Sask.
They would have kept Pickett but Calgary has to pay him his bonus which is coming up soon. Huff is trying to make sure they are under salary cap.

Korey Banks has called Nik Lewis an "idiot". http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=329578

Quote:
"First of all, Nik Lewis is an idiot," Banks snapped after the Lions practised Wednesday for their game this weekend against Calgary. "I ain't scared to say it.
"Football is played between the lines. It's not played with your fingers and a computer."
Banks wasn't happy with a tweet Lewis sent during the Lions loss last week to the Edmonton Eskimos.
Quote:
"When guys have a little success they tend to feel themselves," said the 190-pound, seven-year veteran who has 17 tackles and two forced fumbles for the 1-4 Lions.
"Did he have anything to say last year when he didn't have any catches around this time, no touchdowns? No."
Asked about facing Lewis on Saturday, Banks shrugged.
"I'm not scared of him," he said.

Korey Banks is about as overrated a defensive back as you'll see in the CFL. Other than perhaps Davis Sanchez.

Secondly, is it just me or is B.C. the dirtiest team in the league? They quietly have become quite a dirty team (not just the Jiminez incident) and Wally Buono seems to encourage it. It's been quite a sad transition for Wally as he never used to coach that way in Calgary and ever since he went to B.C. he's seemed to develop a chip on his shoulder.

I don't understand it.

Yep the Lions have been the dirtiest team in the league for years now. The horsecollar on Rambo last year was one of the worst horsecollar tackles you will see. Buono always like to have his share of dirty players on the roster (anyone remember the Zizakovic brothers?).

That said the Lions are probably getting tired of losing to the Stampeders and Banks is trying to get the team revved up. Does anyone know if Lulay is getting the start? A win Saturday would nearly garentee the Stampeders finishing ahead of the Lions by season end.

I have to disagree with some about Wally encouraging dirty plays. That's not true! Wally likes to bring players who likes to compete (not dirty player) that's why he's been successful in this league.

I agree though that BC Lions have some shares of dirty players in the last few years. Jimenez, Rob Murphy(no longer with the Lions) are some of the names that I can think of.

If that is your example of a dirty player on the stamps you are grasping for straws. Buono is not a dirty coach.

That said why is Lewis complaining about the Lions hitting low? He can just jump over them! hehe

Never said he coached his players to be dirty. More that he keeps dirty players on the roster. I guess nobody remembers Murphy & Jimenez.

Sounds good. So what kind of dirty players did he have on the stamps other than the zizakovic brothers?

Darian Durrant has had an intestinal infection for over 3 weeks. Apparently he only told the team about it on Tuesday of this week.

He will start, but his health is very much in question.

In the last hour that has changed Durant is apparently not starting tonight. Take it for what is worth though.

Hmmm. Interesting. I was listening to the Fan960 this morning and Pederson said Durant wasn't doing so well and then I found this:

And we now go back to him starting tonight. I guess we will know in a hour if he is good to go.

TSN just said that DD will start. They also said they believe the intestinal infection he has is Salomon poison.

TSN's Sara Orlesky said earlier that Durant has had 3 meals over the past 4 days.

As expected, Durant will start but he's still hurting. Forced himself to eat. He has had 3 meals in last four days. http://twitter.com/saraorlesky

What effing bs on that Richardson TD. The replayed showed Hawkins being face masked and thrown down.
