The road and the lines on the road don't match a yield situation.

Or a "weave" situation, If they only got rid of the lines and the sign.

This is a weave, no lines.

I don't think that lines (like what we have currently on this now infamous yield-weave-merge-etc. part of road) would hinder the situation. A nice little dashed line let's people know that there is another lane. Signal, look, change into it, done.

That's basically what we have there anyway, just that little pesky yield sign complicating things.

Quoted this one but to all the others as well.

Is your reading comprehension level really that low? How many times do I have to say that I do not really drive the speed limit nor do I drive in the left lane.

On a different point that was brought up, most of the tailgating on Deerfoot (or anywhere for that matter) has nothing to do with the flow of traffic. If the flow is 120 there will still be selfish buttholes that will tailgate from one to the next thus becoming the danger that does not follow the flow.

There is a difference between a merge lane, and merging INTO a lane. Some intersections have the unfortunate design where you must merge into the lane that other drivers use to make a right hand turn. The yield sign means exactly that, yield to whatever happens to be in your way. Sometimes you even have to stop, although not ideal and can be dangerous.

But it is what it is, if you don't obey the yield and get lamb basted, you are at fault. These types of intersections require aggressive driving, you have to keep your head on a swivel and pay attention, and be ready to mash the gas pedal. It is sometimes far more dangerous to be slow and timid and hesitate. And for crying out loud use your signal at these types of intersections, also flashing your lights to let others know you are giving them space to merge is very very effective.

Down here everyone doesn't follow any of the common laws. Christ people will wait until you are within 50 yards on a highway and pull out in front of you and then take their pretty sweet time getting up to speed.

I guess when they don't require drivers ed to get your drivers license things like that will happen.

People that are driving whilst texting and or talking on their cells and get honked at and show you their phones in disbelief that you could possibly be honking at them take the cake.
