Default Psycho Newfie Kid gets no time for killing animals.

He was 8. So when exactly are you liable for your actions?

http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Canada/2.../14865241.html
When he returned at about 6 p.m., Hodder went to check on the birds and found some of them dead and injured in the yard where garden tools, including rakes, snow shovels and spades were strewn about.
“Awful, I suppose, is not the word for it,” Hodder, 38, told QMI Agency Thursday. “And cruelty isn't the word for it, either.”
Hodder found a chick was in the yard in a pond, drowned. A hen lay in the yard, beheaded.
Hodder immediately called the RCMP. Officers came to his home, took pictures and asked questions before they questioned an eight-year-old boy who lives in the community.
The boy, the same one who confessed to bludgeoning a neighbour's dog to death with a barbecue fork early last month, initially denied any involvement in the birds' deaths, but eventually confessed, an RCMP officer told Hodder.

We barely do anything to adults that torture animals, so sadly this result isn't entirely shocking.

How about at least a psychological evaluation? Something is not right with this kid.

If this kid had gotten away with it he would move on to being a serial killer in the future. Guaranteed.

That's pretty disturbing. You have to wonder for his mental make-up, and what his parents have been teaching him. Mom and Dad can have a very big influence on a child's treatment of animals while young and when an adult.

A parent beating a chlid is worse than kid killing some animals.

The neighbourhood animals will be safe in a few years when he moves on to humans.

I forget which one it was, but back in the day I recall watching an biography on one of the serial killers in psychology class. I think It was Ted Bundy. Regardless, it told that he started out with the torture and killing of small animals, then he move up to larger ones, next thing you know the guy is killing people and putting them in vats of acid to dispose of their bodies…

Not saying that is what’s going to happened, but still, I agree with one of the above posts, something is not right with this kid. Psychological evaluation at a minimum. Based on that, appropriate action should be taken. Too bad animal rights mean so little in out society.

I seriously thought there would be more puns and one-liners in this thread because of the Newfie adjective. I'm sorrowly disappointed.

Nonsense. Clearly time-outs, grounding and politely asking little Timmy not to slaughter the neighborhood animals hasnt been working.

You suggest just letting him go about his dog slaying ways unchecked?

If I remember right it was Jeffrey Dahmer, Ted Bundy didn't torture and kill animals.

You guys want to see a kid who grows up messed up, check out a movie called "Grim Love", staring Kerri Russell. Then this won't sound so bad.

It's only been the last generation or two where children didn't get beat hard physically when they were bad.

I guess that's why kids are so well behaved now and society has blossomed into a beautiful zen like existence.

You're kidding, right? Our society is probably THE society in the history of the planet in which animal rights are rated this highly. I agree, keep an eye on this kid, but really? People nowadays get worse punishment for abusing an animal than for abusing a person.
