I would also really like to see a stretcher implementation.

I almost feel like I am talking in a vacuum about this, but for a game that marketed itself on 'toughness', last game did not deliver. If you are going to be a 5'7 inch dangler who likes to lead the puck, and I come along in your blindside, you shouldn't be able to just hop back into the play and score because I am out of position (even though you should be dead).

In OTP there is absolutely no incentive to hit unless you're playing for 'style points' like I often do. Frankly, Nick Lidstrom hockey blows sometimes.

If you're going to enjoy the fruits of having 92 dekeing, I should reap the benefits of having 92 checking, and that means putting you out for a few minutes, or even the game, if you're playing Trevor Letowski hockey.

I am pumped about the ability to go low this year. Hopefully there is a 'blown MCL' animation.

to me this is a big thing. though there is reportedly intimidation, it really sucks that physical play is not rewarded. without injuries or fatigue in the eashl, checking is almost worthless. i can get rocked all game long and not even care. heck, it often pays to just stand along the boards and wait to get hit in hopes of drawing a penalty.

Follow up video to the disallowed goal and some looks at open sequences of two CHL clubs, and one NHL club.

Pretty cool to see that no-goal calls can be overturned. I wonder if there's a system in place to know if the stick was actually too high or if it's more random?

Also watching the clip of the entrances I'm not terribly sold on the classic songs anymore. I don't really care as I use my own playlists anyway.

Does anyone else think the opening sequences look somewhat corny? (with those overlay graphics, especially)

Also, the way the camera zooms in on the faceoff seems a little to arcade-ish for my liking.

Maybe I'm just too picky!

The new faceoff camera I think is needed to see what the other guy is doing/going to do (so you can see his grip on his stick, see how he is orienting himself with his skates etc.

So judging by the fact that the arena looked teh same for the two CHL teams, I'm assuming they jsut made a standard "minor league" arena for all CHL games? Although, I was probably expecting too much, thinking they would get all the CHL arenas in there.

How do these disallowed goals work? Do they stop play? I hope this doesn't get put into online play or we could be waiting an eternity with replays and stoppages.

Anybody with a good remember of that was the same style of announcing the Islanders in NHL10? If not, there may be a chance we hear a Beezly-esc "Your Calgary Flames!".

Also...the lack of videos of actual gameplay is concerning.

Good catch, I'm 95% sure that's a different recording from last year.

Ive always wondered why they stopped making goalie masks accurate to the goaltender...I think they did this for NHL 97? is it a programming thing or a licensing thing? they make them close but i think Kipper has silver flaming c's instead of skulls...
