I just used to go to the advanced gameplay settings and turning down CPU passing accuracy, handling, etc.

I found the "momentum" thing to work with shooting and goals, but I could never find it to work with hits and "intimidation", like I still find no use for line 4, other than so line 1 can rest.
one way i recall them talking about it, and i think it does happen in offline, is that when 'intimidated' the computer will misplay pucks on the boards and such.

i found that to not even be that helpful. i was playing a BAP career as a goalie so that i could unlock some of the goalie gear; the computer on both teams had nothing but crisp tape to tape passes regardless of how i tweaked the sliders. the reason i bring up the goalie example is because it didn't involve me at all as far as the pass rating. i would see my own team down at their end just passing away. sometimes 30+ passes before a shot or takeaway. i honestly tried all sorts of combinations of settings. to me, it never became at all realistic as far as gameplay and passing was concerned.

When does this usually get released? Mid-September or so?

It kinda happened in NHL10 as well. My hits were generally even with the AI after 1 period, but always becomes a landslide by the end (Often something like 30 to 8)

I sure hope they fix that. I hate the "Score 1 goal, score 2-3 right after" system.

if you get crushed in OTP, it should have a serious detrimental effect on your attributes.

You should also be able to hurt guys.

I think it looks more promising than the last physics trailer, and the thought of new puck physics is tantalizing.

I'd love to see an online mode where you can assemble your own team using any choice of players by using a cap of overall ratings. There would be a floor and a max that your team would allow in forwards, defence, and goalies. You could even throw in a created player or two. Then you set up your own lineups, etc. and play online with it! I don't know how feasible this is with the need to sync rosters with your opponents and I'm not a computer junky, but I hope this could be possible.

Make it happen Jobo!

^^The simple fact that a player on his back could tomahawk a puck into the net concerns me that these crazy, highlight, once-in-a-season type goals are going to be too common.

I'd really like it if the players actually celebrated together and didn't all wave their arms and skate in circles like they do right now. It can't be that hard to fix.

thats certainly a legitimate fear. i keep having faith that it will be like the current game with scoring from your knees. i think they implemented that pretty well and it only happens once in a while.

i also worry about the frequency of stick breaking. but at least that is something that happens a couple times a game in real life.

I'm far more concerned with the stick breaking too. NHL 2004 was (in my opinion) the worst nhl game of all time simply because the glass broke 3 times each game. Hopefully the sticks don't go all snap-happy on us.

I'm not overly worried though. This development team seems to be pretty strong. Anytime they've added a new feature (like scoring from your knees) it's been very subtle. I actually still haven't done it and I've played much more than most. You get shots off, but they are usually so inaccurate it doesn't have a hope of going in.

I've scored on my knees once in a OTP game, and have seen it maybe 7 times total in the 300 games I have played in OTP.

I too hope the "score from your back/crazy goals" are held to moderate low level, they are cool but if they happen every game or two it will get old.

In be a pro I've never scored a goal from my knees. Mostly what happens is one guy trips me to my knees, and while i slide towards the goal the other defenseman lines me up for the devestating hit knocking my players head off.
